The Park, Sunday afternoon
River sat in a tree, eating an apple and watching a small spider wander down her leg. Eventually it let go of her, lowering itself on a thin thread suspended from her big toe. She wouldn't stay long enough for there to be a web. The spider would have to start all over again somewhere else.

"Carrying fruit on you now?"

The spider started to climb up again, then made a jump on to her little toe.

"Alia?" she called out, frowning. It did not feel quite like her aunt, but it was close.

"You made it tickle. Like a feather." Blue eyes focused back on River, curiously. "Alia can do that, sometimes. She says I might be able to do it when I get older, but I can't, yet."

The dog had faithfully followed him from the clinic. After a thorough greeting of face licking, that is.
Yesterday had taught him to look upwards and that's when he spotted the girl in the tree. "Hi," he waved a little. "You ain't gonna shoot me wit' water are ya?"

The dog pricked its ears up and raised its head, sniffing at the air as it moved closer to the boy. Its head cocked a bit as it spotted the person in the tree.
"Can I..." he hesitated, wondering if it was rude, but... "have one? To eat? Please?" he added. Grammy was always telling him to mind his manners since he often forgot to. But he remembered now. Maybe she'd give him one of her apples if he was real nice to her.

"Thank you!" he smiled up at her. "Can I sit by your tree? It's a pretty tree."

"I just wanna sit wit' my doggie."
Huh. How did that 'my' slip out? Really strange around here.

He saw the tree's and grinned, he'd be able to get a better view from up there... yah that was it.
He climbed up into the tree and started swinging from a branch, looking over at the girl there. "HI!"
