Amber did not like the fog. The fog freaked her out. So once she finally made it to T&C with Cal in tow, she parked her butt behind the counter with some comfort food and a smut novel about a love slave (not that she could read it geeze). Fog was scary. There were things in the fog. She's seen enough movies to declare it so.
