Tink was having far too much fun at that bar-place with all of the absences lately. She even managed a happy, cheery wave to Tino -- who did not look thrilled to see her! The nerve! -- before plopping herself behind the bar and looking around excitedly for customers.

After all, who else was she supposed to abuse?

Hoshi was not big on karaoke, but she really wanted that daiquiri. So she reluctantly got on stage and sang (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw745nqwdd0). There was even a small bit of interpretive dance, but not a lot as the song really didn't need a lot.

Hoshi had dressed fairly casually this evening, wearing a tank top, khaki pants and flip flops. Maybe she was dressed just a little too casually, especially since she was meeting someone.

"Could I get a strawberry daiquiri, please?" she asked the diminutive bartender.

That depended! Was she prepared to earn it? Sing a little song? Do some tap? Tink had made her students do tap. With mustard. There didn't seem to be any mustard here, but she was sure they could find some equally-useful substitute! Couldn't they?

"Sing? Tap? Mustard? I thought all I had to do was pay," asked Hoshi, confused. "I have the right amount of currency and everything."

Pfft. Tink was not an employee. Tink had little interest in this girl's money. Tink was here for the abuse. Now! There seemed to be a bottle of some undisclosed liquor here. Was the girl willing to chug it and belch the alphabet? That might get her a daiquiri. Depending on whether they had daiquiri mixes or not.

Hoshi put her money away, confused. "I don't understand... Oh! You want to barter? But I've never tried belching the alphabet before. Actually, I've never tried belching on purpose. Maybe I could translate something for you? I'm really good with languages."

Yes! Yes, Tink liked to barter. Hmmm. Tink couldn't think of any languages that she needed to insult people in; she usually stuck with emphatic gestures.

What about pouring the undisclosed liquor on her head? That might get her a daiquiri. Or dancing around and patting herself on the stomach and singing show tunes? That might even make her look for the blender!

That was too bad, because working at the hotel had taught Hoshi an awful lot about swearing in German.

"I guess I could sing something, then," she said. It seemed like the least harmful option.

Lowering her voice to a whisper, she added, "Be careful if you order a drink. The new bartender doesn't take money."

"Haven't done that before, unless you count sending my mother a fake gremlin. Who did you get to tease?" asked Hoshi.

"I have no idea what she takes, except for humiliation," she whispered back.

Hoshi burst out laughing. "I can't believe you asked him that," she said. "I've met him once or twice. He seems so... imposing."

Worf approached the bar and sigh irritably at the sight of the small tiny... thing tending bar.

"Prune juice," he said gruffly and then after a few moments. "Please."

And she said no. Was he willing to do something to entertain her? Prune juice was stinky and she wasn't getting out the bottle without a good cause. So there.

Ew! Employees were gross. Tink did not work here. Tino worked here. Tino might get him some of that disgusting swill. She was going to charge him some humiliation. Did he sing?
