Caritas [Thursday evening]

Robin happily bounced into Caritas, gleefully taking her spot behind the bar.

To be honest, she'd kind of missed her job last week. Amidst all the being-a-dog-ness, anyway.

Which was why she was merrily working her way through some Scotch. For some reason, Tino didn't seem as happy to have her back. Weird.

"Ha, ha, ha," Robin said, watching him carefully. "No, I changed back on Saturday. I've been looking everywhere for you, though."

That was a total lie. She'd been sitting at home and eating ice cream and drinking, mostly.

Barney smiled innocently. "What, Fraser's not cutting it lately? I almost regret to inform you that this Barnacle's settled on lush land."

"So I've heard," she said, smiling sweetly. "Which is why I've been looking for you. I have a question."

"Only one?" Barney asked, a slow grin spreading across his face.

"Well, it's really a whole bunch of questions that all kind of lead into one, which is: have you lost your fucking mind?" Robin asked, much more calmly than she would have thought she could. She was quite proud of herself.

Barney was unfazed. "You could say my mind has been overcome by my heart." He placed his palm against his chest.

"I don't know what's wrong with you, or what your plan is," she said, shaking her head and sliding a glass over to him. "But I'm looking forward to the fallout. You realize this means no more random hookups with girls you barely know. You realize this means no more strip clubs. You realize," and with this, Robin's voice grew grave, "you will be staying at home, in your sweatpants with your wifey, night after night, like you're Ted or something, instead of running around, leaking awesome all over everything."

"Oh Robin, simple, naive, misunderstanding Robin!" Barney laughed to himself. "Have you met my fiancee? She'll be out leaking Awesome with me and the strippers. Vala is amazing. You're gonna love being my Best Bro."

"It's like a Best Man, but you're a chick so I'm improving the tradition," he explained. "This wedding is going to be Legend- wait for it because it's not wearing any shade of known white-," he so loved his dramatic pauses, "-dary!"

"Hey, you're the one dating the law," Barney reminded her. He was dating a criminal. It was a nice sort of balance, actually.

"He can come and hang out in the Lame Guys Corner with Marshall, and maybe Ted. I don't know what's going on with him," she said, waving a hand. "I will fly New York strippers out for you, even. Or we could have the party there. Hm."

"New York strippers are a must," Barney decided. "New York...could be interesting with this bunch. We'll have to keep that in mind. Also, you have ovaries somewhere, know anything about wedding planning?"
