Hinata had thought about it rather a lot, and she had talked to Millie-san once before and discovered that, yes, Millie-san was rather nice.

So it was, when she noticed the now hiring sign that Hinata gathered up her courage and stepped inside. "G-Good morning," she said quietly.

That, Hinata found, was even more reassuring.

"A-Ano," she said. "I w-was hoping to l-look into a job h-here, if I m-might, Millie-san..."

"Why, I think that would be lovely," Millie said with a smile. "I have Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays available."

"I a-am free both Tuesdays and S-Sundays," she said, smiling. "If I m-might, c-could I w-work Tuesdays?"

"Tuesdays would be perfect!" Millie said happily. "Here, let me handwavily show you around and see if you think it's something you'd be comfortable doing."

She bowed her head. "I w-won't let you down," Hinata said. "P-Please, lead and I w-will follow."

"Oh I have no doubt you'll do just fine," Millie said with a smile and took her throughout the store explaining everything.

Hinata was, if nothing else, a very good listener and following Millie-san around helped her get a better idea of the store, though no doubt she'd be exploring it more thoroughly next week.

"Millie-san?" she asked hesitantly. "What is y-your favourite sort o-of book?"

"Mine? Oh, Goddess, I have so many!" Millie thought for a moment. "I do enjoy a good romance, I suppose."

"I've n-never read one," Hinata admitted, smiling. "Father w-wouldn't approve, I d-don't think."

"Well... if you wanted to... you could always say that part of your job required that you read a wide variety of books," Millie suggested. "And you're free to read whatever you wish here. You can set it aside to read if you'd rather not bring it back home with you."

"D-Do you think w-we could have t-that on p-paper so that it i-is formalized?" she said, beaming. "F-Father won't a-accept anything else."

Millie laughed. "Certainly. I'll have it for you next Tuesday. Or on Thursday even if you want to give it to him before you start work."
