Caritas - Sunday evening [Open]

Was Jolee ready for some football? No. But Tino was. Tino kept trying to get Jolee to play paper football for him in celebration of the NFL season. Jolee declined. But he did let Tino listen to the games on headphones.

The HELP WANTED sign was still up. And Jolee put the Christmas lights around it just to make it stand out even more.

[OOC: I'm around, but may be distracted at points while trying to clean up a little.

We currently have openings on ~~Wednesday and~~ Saturday. Jolee's preference is for adults to fill the spots, but students will be accepted with some muttering. I personally have no preference. I just like having Jolee be less than entirely happy. :D

Tino was listening to the game, but he was still able to do his job.

He just might spike your drink. That is, spiking in the football sense. And then he'll have the price of the glass and drink docked from his pay.

Penelope had heard a rumor about zombies, and being the curious sort she is, took herself to town to find out if the rumor was true.

It took her five minutes worth of staring at the band to realize that, yep, rumor was true.

Stepping up to the bar, she sat down and said politely, though her expression was still lost somewhere in wonderment, "Hello."

"Evening," Jolee said. "What can I get for you?"

She went with the only thing she's ever had at a pub. "Beer. On tap, please?"

"Of course," Jolee said. "Tino? Beer for the lady." Tino didn't move. "Lousy headphones. Fine, I'll get it myself."

Shortly after, he put the beer down in front of Penelope.

"Thank you," she said, eyeing Tino for a moment before she looked back at the bartender. "I'm Penelope Wilhern. A new student." A quick glance at the band had her asking, "I know this question might seem blatantly obvious, but are those real dead people over there?"

"Yes they are," Jolee said. "I'm not sure how they got here in the first place, but they seem happy enough to just keep playing without bothering anyone. Unless their playing bothers you, I suppose."

"Oh, it doesn't bother me. Shocked me at first and I admit to being curious as to how long they've been dead," she replied, knowing she wouldn't get an answer so didn't ask.

"I was wondering something," because she'd seen the help wanted signs, "might the manager be around?"

"No, we don't actually have a manager, strictly speaking. But you're talking to the owner," Jolee said. "My name's Jolee Bindo."

Penelope smiled. "It's nice to meet you. The sign is very pretty." Her mother was going to kill her. "I would like to be considered to work here, please."

"Have you ever worked in a bar before?" Jolee asked.

She shook her head. "No." Pause. "But I have watched someone working in one on a few seperate occassions."

"I think that's the case with most of my employees, to be honest," Jolee said. "Have you ever had a job of any sort?"

Again, Penelope had to shake her head. "But I'm an honest person and will work very hard, and I promise to always be on time." Her mother was going to diiiie if she got this job. It was almost amusing.

"Are you a good listener?" Jolee asked. "People tend to want that from their bartenders."

This? she smiled at. "Oh, yes. I'm an excellent listener."

"And can you start on Wednesday?" Jolee asked.

"Yes!" she exclaimed rather excitedly. "I can!"

"Then welcome to the team. Tino will show you whatever you need to be shown, assuming he's PAYING ATTENTION," Jolee said, raising his voice to get Tino's attention. It didn't work. "He plays nicer with the other employees."

"Thank you, Jolee," Penelope said, looking over at Tino. "We'll get along just fine." His not paying attention didn't seem to phase her. Too much.

She went to take a sip of her beer... "Oh. Do you have any straws?"

"Sure," Jolee said, grabbing one from under the bar and handing it to her.

He'd never seen anyone drink beer with a straw, but in a place like this, that kind of thing didn't even start to register as weird.

"Thank you," she replied and slipped it in her beer then up and under her scarf, slurrping quietly.

"Mmm."

Nothing of interest here, unless you bring something interesting.

I'm getting killed in my fantasy league so far. Yikes.

Dude...I have a Marion Ravenwood journal. If I didn't already work for you I'd be *so* on that.

Work for me twice! Indy will appreciate it!

That wouldn't be fair to everybody else omg. She is pretty far up my queue though. If someone else doesn't app her then she'll be coming in from me in a semester or two.
