Strokes of Genius Sunday 9/14

After a long day of stocking yesterday, Ammy was taking a well deserved rest on the outside stoop of their new store. Issun remained nearby; alert and bored. He hopped up and down waiting for someone to come along to talk to. Or to sell art supplies to. Or to flirt with. But mostly the last one.

He then remembered their promise to turn in art to the pretty lady at the art gallery. What was her name again? Charlotte. Right? With that in mind he got out some paper to make her a lovely painting. But as he worked he wondered if this was a contest and if they might win and get some extra cash. It was motivation to make this one quite the masterpiece.

((OOC: Open, and still hiring))

Bored and not particularly wanting to hang around the dorms in the event that people were going to be loud and annoying (in her particular view of the world this encompassed most teenage behavior), Katchoo was out and wandering the town.

Hard not to notice a white wolf sitting on the stoop of a store, though, and she had to stop and stare. The staring got an extended life when she realized what was inside the store, too.

"Depends on what kind of job," Katchoo said warily; for one, she wasn't sure to make of a sprite talking to her, and for another the 'chick alert' comment had her mind going down the wrong kind of job track.

Something dangerous flashed in Katchoo's eyes at the implication. "No way," she said vehemently, "I don't do jobs like that." Any more.

But she was running low on the little bit of cash she'd brought back with her from Hawaii -- stupid cigarettes -- and that $850,000 in Zurich was still maddeningly out of reach. And art supplies didn't come cheap, either, so she took a deep breath to calm down.

"Working in there, though . . . that I can do."

The boss was the wolf. Of course. Frikkin' Fandom.

"Keep calling me sweetheart and you might not get my name," Katchoo said through clenched teeth before she remembered she should probably be nice to people offering her a job. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Katina Choovanski."

"Any day but Tuesday, I guess," Katchoo replied, with a bit of a look that said you'll never find out how much bite I have.

The wolf seemed nice, though. And boy, was that a thought she'd never expected to think.

Katchoo nodded. "Yeah, I can do that. Anything special you need me to do besides play register jockey and all that cr -- jazz?"

"Wednesday, yeah," Katchoo said in her usual rasp. "I'll be here."

"Oh," Viki said brightly, stopping when she noticed them, "you did find a shop after all!"

"I shouldn't think I would mind another if you're hiring," she said, unfased. "Are you then?"

[Totally alright with me! SP = win!]

"That does, I rather think, work for me," she said, considering it. "And it should be rather easy to remember even more."
