Chilly Boulder Ice Creamery - Sunday Afternoon

Sora had promised Blysse that they would go out for ice cream together just because she had never tried ice cream and to Sora that just didn't see right! The three of them (Yes three. They couldn't leave Blind Seer out of it) stared at the display case at the vast array of flavors available to them.

If the man behind the counter seemed more than a little freaked to have a large wolf in the shop staring intently at the ice cream, he didn't show it. Much.

"Do you know what kind you might want to try first?" Sora asked, making sure the question was posed to both of his companions.

[Thread with sora for one person. Otherwise Chilly Boulder is available. Firekeeper and Blind Seer modded with permission.]

Firekeeper was frankly... a little overwhelmed by the display. And had no clue what any of the little signs in front of the flavors said.

"I am thinking... strawberry?" she said hesitantly. Strawberries were in lots of desserts, she reasoned, so logically there should be some ice cream of that flavor.

"Blueberries is good," Firekeeper nodded. "Berries and fruits is not very wolfish thing to eat, but human-shape is needing them, so. I eat."

"What is?" Yeah, she was getting a lot of use out of this phrase.

Firekeeper glanced at Blind Seer. "Will try," she nodded, not bothering to point out that Blind Seer was most definitely not a dog.

"Sound good," Firekeeper nodded.

"Am thinking Blind Seer is not fitting on seat," Firekeeper said thoughtfully. "But can maybe sit nearby."

"Is allowed?" she asked dubiously. Not that she minded sitting on the floor, but she knew human conventions well enough to know it generally wasn't considered proper.

"Good point," Firekeeper grinned back, watching Sora to see just how one was supposed to go about eating the ice cream.

"Wolves," Firekeeper nodded, watching this process carefully. "Other beasts too, though Cousin-kind is..." she searched for the right word, "stupid. Not having much to say."

With that, she carefully mimicked Sora's method of ice-cream-cone-eating. "Oh!" she exclaimed. "Cold! And sweet!" Theoretically she'd known that's what ice cream would involve, from Sora's description, but when you come from a world without refrigeration, it's something of a surprise.

"This, yes," Firekeeper nodded again. "Royal Beasts can learn to understand human words if they is caring to, but not really speak it. Is not having skill to make right mouth-shapes for human sounds."

"He speak how Beasts speak," Firekeeper explained. "I speak this also, so I understand."

"I am not remembering time before I live with wolves, so, am not remembering learning how they is speaking," Firekeeper shrugged uncomfortably. "Learning human speaking was hard." And as might be clear from her strange way of speaking, she didn't quite have it down perfectly.

Firekeeper nodded. "Am," she confirmed. "Do you know how they is keeping it from melting?"

"So many things is different from where I growed up," Firekeeper commented. "There, ice is only in winter season."
