Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Wednesday

Ino had to admit that it was weird having to work one day and then… having to work the next at a completely different place. All the same though, she’d been at Wellspring longer and it felt comfortable being there on a Wednesday.

Making sure the place was clean, and fussing with her plants, she then settled back in Cable-san’s chair with a notebook and tried to decide what she was going to do for Homecoming. Hmmm.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

"Morning."

Cable didn't see why he should switch up his greetings. He had coffee, and a dog at his ankles, and a somewhat necessary mission involving stocking up on alcohol.

Just in case.

"Morning, Cable-san! How're you?" Ino chirped, leaning over the chair to wriggle her hand at Tether. Did he want to be petted? "Morning, Tether!"

"I'm good," he answered. "Any more special orders today?" Not that Triela had a snowball's chance in hell of getting hers.

But Tether always wanted to be petted, and bounced over to nudge accordingly.

That was what she'd figured, really. "Did you get my message 'bout Triela?" Ino asked, just to make sure. "Told her probably not, but you know, had to pass it on. And nothing yet, though I guess it's possible."

She grinned at Tether, and yes, petted him a lot.

"I got it." Cable sipped from his cup of coffee. "She's not going to get anything." It was way too dangerous.

And the payoff was too small. "Anything else?"

"She tried," Ino said, shrugging.

A beat.

"Did I tell you I'm on Student Council now? And I got another job, at the flower shop." But she figured he'd be more interested in the StuCo bit of that.

He paused by the door. "I heard you were elected," he noted. "Are preparations for the dance going smoothly?" Translated: was everything working out alright and was nobody going to wind up maimed, killed, or turned into small animals?

"Nothing's blow up yet," she said, grinning. "And we made plans without any arguing."

Turned into small animals would've been hilarious for a dance, come on.

"That's a relief." He didn't sound utterly convinced, but, hell, it was their dance. "Well, I wish you all good luck with that."

It'd be... nice... to see them all happy in one place.

"It'll be awesome," she insisted. "It's got to be since it's the first dance of the year," school year, "and I've got plans for a date."

Right, Ino. Because Cable-san really cared about that.

"I'm glad." Cable did not know much about dates except that they were oft-awkward and. Well. But he was happy as long as Ino kept out of trouble. "And yes, everything will be fine. I've got some groceries to run; you'll watch over Tether."

You'd almost be excused for thinking that was a question.

Considering her current plan was to browbeat her 'date' into coming with her the night of the dance... keeping out of trouble was relative. But still.

"How 'bout that, Tether? You good with that?" Ino... sort of figured that was an order. Puppy-sitting. Again.

Tether's reply was fairly nonverbal and involved covering part of Ino's limbs in an impressive quantity of slobebr.

"Be careful," Cable said, dryly, and went for the door.

"I will!" With a bit of an eyeroll. What was she? Five, or something?

"Oh, yes," she said to Tether, making a face at the slobber. "'Cause you're totally hazardous to my health, right?"

She seriously doubted it.
