It was Homecoming week, and that meant Romeo was at the shop a little early and took extra care in arranging the stock of formal attire. Dances always made for busy weeks at work.

Fancy, pretty formal dresses went right up front. Handsome tuxes and suits were across the store aisle. And of course, there was a wall of shoes.

He thumbed the suits and tuxes thoughtfully as he put them on the racks, not sure what he would wear himself.  He supposed he should find out what color Yurika's dress was as a start.

Pixie Dust was open.

Ino had to admit that it was weird having to work one day and then… having to work the next at a completely different place. All the same though, she’d been at Wellspring longer and it felt comfortable being there on a Wednesday.

Making sure the place was clean, and fussing with her plants, she then settled back in Cable-san’s chair with a notebook and tried to decide what she was going to do for Homecoming. Hmmm.

Lola was back at the flower shop, this time sorting through a large box of various corsages. And muttering to herself in German about formal dances. It wasn't very polite muttering.

It had been bothering Dale all week.

Sure he had bigger personal problems at the moment and there was no real way for him to find a solution. As a result he kept dwelling on a smaller problem which possibly irritated him more than it should.

Finally he decided to face the problem head on.

He went to the coffee maker and poured himself a cup of coffee. He paused for a moment and steeled his nerve before reaching into his coat and pulling out a packet of M&M's which he then poured into his mug.

He looked at the mug with the expression of someone who might be waiting for something to explode. When that did not happen he used a spoon to stir his coffee and then take a sip.

At which point he dumped the contents of the mug into the sink and poured himself a fresh mugh of coffee before returning to his desk.

So much for experimentation.

Liir was in a rare good mood and found himself actually skipping as he came in the door today, no matter how much of a fool it made him look. He greeted the kitchenware, pulled out a few of the spices he'd brought from his room to work with, and set to, wondering if he'd be able to find what he was looking for at one of the stores today.
Today's Specials
Pan-seared Snapper with Lobster Sauce
Chorizo and Butterbean Stew
Snickerdoodles

The Cafe Fina was open!

Jeff had forgotten his sketches at home today, which left him with absolutely nothing to do. After about half an hour of trying to figure out how long he could sit on his hands, he dragged Nana along into the kitchen.

It wasn't that he was trying to get into a fight with Gunther. It's just that it sort of happened all on its own when one combined an angry German chef with an awkward Welsh boy and his particularly gargantuan canine.

Alice was diligently working through the Gs. Wondering if perhaps she should attend the Homecoming dance. There was a store in town, she could fetch a dress there, couldn't she? If it was all right to leave Dinah by herself, here ...

The first thing Katchoo did when she got to work was buy herself a new sketchbook, one of the black hardbound Cansons she liked so much. (Hey, those things had survived living on the streets of L.A. pretty well; they'd survive in Fandom, that was for damn sure.) She'd filled up the last page of her latest sketchbook just last night; seemed like she was going through the stupid things almost faster than she did cigarettes.

Speaking of which . . . she cranked the stereo up inside the store, then took said cigarettes and sketchbook outside, where she camped out on the front step, evidently set on going through both as fast as possible.

Vaguely, it occurred to her that they were getting ready for that whole Homecoming thing. Was Francine going with anyone? Man, did that thought ever make Katchoo cranky.

This sketchbook and this pack of cigarettes weren't going to last long at all.

[OOC: OMG late because I suck and have been busy and hung over. Probably won't have time to tag until I get home, but will be around then.]

Amber was totally all day-dreamy like at work today. One thing after another kept her head in the clouds even as she worked and flitted about the store, sweeping, or straightening this that or the other. She needed a dress for Homecoming and didn't have much time to decide what color and what she was looking for. Not like she had much money to put in a dress, but whatever, she'd come up with something.

She forgot to put up a today's special sign, but Apu being Apu, stuck up something:

Teddy really needed to get a better alarm clock before he had to get to work next week. Even if staying in bed had seemed like a great idea.

So that might be why he was napping, head pillowed in on his folded arms on the front desk.

Penelope was in a very good mood when she came into work tonight. The band singing 'Take a chance on me' only had her skipping behind the counter.

Aside from her very nice conversationn with Dean yesterday, she had a date to the Homecoming dance with someone she actually knew and liked. She was practically giddy over this and wondered what someone wore to these sorts of dances. Maybe Claire would know; she'd have to ask her.

She started wiping down the already clean counter, singing as she went along, "If you change your mind, I'm the first in line. Honey I'm still free..."

Tino just stared at her. And he might have been smiling. But it was highly doubtful.

Caritas is open.

The Gig, Wednesday

After several days of hard work, The Gig was in order.

Apart from the grassy patch on the road side of the hedge, that is; it was still long and scraggly.

Bold had been kind enough to volunteer his services to rectify the problem, so, once the morning chores were done, Rosie brought him out front to graze. While Bold munched contentedly, Rosie stared with mingled curiosity and apprehension at the town around her.

She'd yet to set much of a foot outside of The Gig, which had become to her like a small version of her home town.

She would. Soon. Just not quite yet.

The sign was prominently displayed, as per usual.

[ooc: There's still a Wednesday available should anyone want it. My availability will be questionable tomorrow, so you might do best to email me.]

Naomi showed up on time for her shift, making sure that everything was set up before she opened.

Once she had opened up she sat down with a data PADD and started to read while she waited in case there was anyone who might need her help.

Stark Industries is open.
