Caritas, Wednesday 10/8

Penelope was in a very good mood when she came into work tonight. The band singing 'Take a chance on me' only had her skipping behind the counter.

Aside from her very nice conversationn with Dean yesterday, she had a date to the Homecoming dance with someone she actually knew and liked. She was practically giddy over this and wondered what someone wore to these sorts of dances. Maybe Claire would know; she'd have to ask her.

She started wiping down the already clean counter, singing as she went along, "If you change your mind, I'm the first in line. Honey I'm still free..."

Tino just stared at her. And he might have been smiling. But it was highly doubtful.

Caritas is open.

Ned realized that if he spent anymore time in his room thinking about Homecoming, he might go insane.

So, he'd actually gone out. He peeked inside Caritas, checking for familiar faces and actually came inside when he saw one.

"Hi, Penelope," he said. "I didn't know you worked here."

"Um, hmm." He hated that simple questions sometimes stumped him. "Do you have hot chocolate?"

"Oh, sure, thanks," he said, nodding. "Whipped cream sounds good. Figure I'll get a start on winter drinks."

Claire waved a little to Ned. "Hey, I haven't seen you except class since Blair's party thing. What's up?"

"I've been a little anti social," he admitted. "Mostly been trying to figure out what to do at dances."

Claire made a little face. "Homecoming, right? I think I've decided not to go."

Jack...was enjoying the music, oddly enough. Very catchy.

Must be some new stuff. "Hey! How's it going?" he asked as he approached the bar.

"Beer would be good," he said. "This is great. What is it?" he asked, headnodding at the band.

Peyton stopped in for a drink and was surprised to see Penelope there. "Hey, I didn't know you worked here!"

"Good," Peyton said. "I'm glad I ran into you. I wanted to make sure you were okay after Ethics class. You were gone so quickly, I missed you."

Claire climbed up on a barstool and spun a little as she waited for Penelope to notice her. "Hey."

[OOC: Still wanna do the thing with the scarf tonight?]

Claire tilted a hand back and forth in equivocation. "Eh. Done with classes for the week, but now I have all this time to kill. And the whole school's all wrapped up in Homecoming."

"You?"

if you’re feeling down, if you’re all alone when the pretty birds have flown, honey I’m still free.
