Caritas - Thursday Evening

Chuck was very disappointed to find that his favorite pair of breasts bartender wasn't in Caritas this evening. Now what was he going to look at all evening? Well, he came all the way down here, he wasn't about to leave without having some fun first.

"Move aside, Rico," Chuck said, pushing Tino away from the bar. "I'll help myself this evening."

Tino started to protest but Chuck shoved a hundred dollar bill into his hand. That shut him up quite effectively.

"Oh, believe me, there's nothing more I'd love to do than to show this town how to really live it up," Chuck said, getting Hannibal his drink. "But then this weekend happened. Breaking up a wedding, dying and then committing murder is a lot of excitement, even for me."

"You died?" Hannibal asked, eyebrows going up. "And I thought I got off bad. I thought the pajama wearing teacher was my dad and then I had a medical degree and wanted to leave town to do some charity work."

After a decidedly emotional night the night before, Eric decided to partake of the traditional Upper East Side remedy to self-doubt, big changes, or... well, anything: drinking. Thus, the bar.

His surprise upon seeing Chuck Bass behind the bar, however, practically drove all thoughts of drinking from his mind. "You're working?"

[Work got cancelled tonight -- power outage on the waterfront, whee! -- but I'll be back and forth a little bit until probably 9PM Eastern.]

"Would you look at that, I guess I am," Chuck said with a smile. "Well, at least I've got one good thing to tell my father when he visits next weekend."

"What brings you to the bar, van der Woodsen?" Chuck asked. He rarely saw Eric partaking in Serena's favorite pastime.

Angela still had her umbrella with her, and it had got her through the day remarkably lacking in rainbow colours. She was pretty pleased with that.

She hopped up onto a barstool and grinned across at Chuck. "Evening."

Tonight honestly might have been the most Chuck has ever worked in his entire life. He was oddly proud of that.

Chuck was leaning against the bar with a glass of scotch in his hand when Toby came in. "Get whatever you want; it's free tonight."

"And, no, it's not Tino's birthday," Chuck said, returning his attention to Toby. "I just decided to be nice and pay for everybody's drinks."
