Caritas [Thursday evening]

Given that this morning she'd woken up still smelling like rum (poor Benton), Robin was steering clear of anything of that nature tonight.

Instead, she busied herself with texting Katie to prepare her for the weekend.

It wasn't going...ideally.

Minsc didn't have much to do today; at least, he didn't have much to do today that didn't involve demolishing all his furniture, which, while a great deal of fun, would keep him busy all weekend, when he'd be possibly meeting parents, and that would not do.

So he and Boo went to the bar, taking a seat with the usual cheerful demand. "Bring me some moderately strong ale! And water! For my hamster!"

Robin immediately knew who this was, despite having met the party in question when she was a man and he was a woman.

"Only moderately strong?" she checked. "And did you want your hamster's water in a little dish or something?"

"Only moderately strong," Minsc agreed, nodding, "and, yes, please, a dish." He gave a bit of a chuckle. "It is not as if he can exactly hold a cup, my lady."

"I though maybe he'd want to...swim," she suggested mildly, getting the respective drinks. "I don't get a lot of hamster business, weirdly enough."

Minsc looked toward his hamster, now settled on the bar, with a thoughtful frown. "I don't actually know if Boo can swim," he admitted. "I'd imagine so, since he is one of the few giant miniature space hamsters in all the realms, but it isn't like he regularly takes a dip. He has managed to hold his own when fording rivers, though, so that is a good sign!"

"Fording rivers?" The only time Robin had ever heard of someone doing that was, well. "Like on Oregon Trail?"

"Ooh! Where is that?"

It sounded so adventuresome! Maybe it could be a field trip!

"It's an old computer game," she explained. "With terrible graphics and random obstacles. It's addictive and horrible."

"Com...puter game?" Minsc asked, eying the bartender as if she might be speaking some archaic language, and he thought about it a moment before asking, "Like the Danger Shop?"

Yeah, Minsc's experience with the technology here was kind of...hit and miss.

"...like a really, really small version?" she tried. "It has a screen, and a keyboard. Computer."

"I...think, Minsc said, carefully, because he was not sure, "there is something like that in the house, in the room with all the wires. I wonder if it is compatible for accessing this Oregon Trail you speak of."

"I'm sure it is," Robin assured him, nodding. "Oregon Trail is from like ten years ago."

"Very good!" Minsc was quite pleased with this news. "Thank you, then, my lady, for the tip, as I shall look into this trail of the Oregon for myself! Boo and I are sure to enjoy it!"

"...good!" Robin said, nodding. "May you not die of random dysentery."

"Oh, yes!" Minsc agreed with enthusiasm, even if it did seem like a rather random blessing. "That would not be pleasant at all!"

Fraser found his way here, of course.

He greeted Robin with a quiet smile, not wanting to interrupt any texting.

"Katie wants to know if you'll wear your uniform while she's here," she said, glancing up.

"Um, probably," he said, nodding. "I tend to wear it during Parent's Weekend."

"The red one?" she asked, raising her brows, and then made a face and shook her head. "Ew, I can't be having dirty thoughts about your uniform this weekend. She's sleeping on our couch."

"Did you want me to sleep in the spare room?" Fraser asked. "I can use my sleeping bag."

"No!" she protested. "Just...a sex hiatus. Mostly because we need to stay alert and make sure she doesn't sneak out."

"She would always sleep in our room," he said. "I could sleep in the spare room and you could sleep on the couch."

"No, she gets the couch. It's conspicuous and weird if we let her have our room and then sleep apart," she pointed out.

"Why is it weird?" he asked. "I could always just stay at the hotel due to work, if you'd like."

"Because we're living together so she probably knows we have sex," Robin pointed out. "And she'll get mad at me for treating her like a child or something."

"You know, you won't be able to watch her the entire time," Fraser told her.

"I really just don't want her banging Chuck Bass," she admitted. "Or any of the boys. But especially Chuck."

"So, let me sleep in my office," he told her quietly. "I've done it before, it doesn't mean we're treating her like a child. And you and she can be there without my presence and possible interruption."

"...maybe Saturday night," she suggested, considering it. "We can play it by ear?"

"That's fine," he said. "I just don't want to be in the way. She's your sister and you haven't seen her in awhile."

"You won't," she promised. "I have to show her the town, too."

"It's going to be crowded here so make sure she sticks close," he told her. "Take Dief with you if you need to."

"...I have six others," she pointed out.

"Yes, I know but he's also a skilled tracking dog should she try and make an escape," he said.

"Hey now, Popcorn could totally track if he wanted to."

...no, he could not. He would get distracted by a ladybug or something.

"Of course he could," he said, nodding. "We both know he could do that, yes."

"He just doesn't want to," she said, nodding.

"Of course, he has better things to do," he said and nodded. "He's a very busy puppy."

"He is," Robin agreed, nodding vehemently. "Lots of important sniffing and chasing and so forth to do."

"And sleeping, don't forget sleeping," he added.

"And eating," she added.

"A puppy's work is never done," he said, nodding.

Drink...away from Robin!

It's laundry day! So I am kind of all over, but steadily around.

(...laundry day/see you there/underthings/tumbling. STUCK IN MY HEAD ALL NIGHT NOW.)
