The Park, Saturday Afternoon

The day was gorgeous - sunny and crisp and cool, but not so cool that people would need coats or sweaters. There were some discrete space heaters set up for those who had chosen not to wear sleeves with their formalwear.

A light breeze was there to lift hair that wasn't pinned or sprayed into position. Birds sang. Chairs were set up, divided by a long center aisle. There was even a small section towards the front with little piles of nuts and bottles of rum - Vala and Barney had both done radio at one time or another, plus it just made sense to make nice to the squirrels.

The wedding party had yet to take their places, so the atmosphere was open and relaxed, if a bit anticipatory.

"But then I would've had to walk down the aisle alone and that would have been very, very sad," he told her.

"It would have," she laughed. "I told myself very strictly that this was not my day, and that I was not allowed to disrupt hers. The bride, Miss Mal Doran, that is. She looks quite beautiful."

"Vala does dress up well," Biff agreed, reaching for Elizabeth's hand to kiss it as they reached the end of the aisle. "But so do you."

Eliza held her pose for a moment, granting him a smile and bowing her head slightly. "Thank you," she said, before reclaiming her hand and taking her place.
