It happened every year, without fail, so one would think that Turtle would learn better, but noooo.

Every day, following Halloween, it was as inevitable as the sun coming up. The toothache. The horrible, horrible tooth ache that made Turtle wonder how something as small as one of her teeth could ache so much. It was figure, of course, that she'd have to be at work, too, so she was behind the counter, a small heat pad to the side of her jaw, slumped rather miserably.

Because I wouldn't want to deal with Turtle right now, either.

Jack decided that 50% candy was a bargain, and stocked up.

She'll do her best to talk back but no guarantees.

And then there was a Marco. "No hug for me today?"

"You got two yesterday," Turtle reminded him. "As far as I'm concerned, you're over quota for the year."

"Be still my heart." Marco said and rolled his eyes as he jumped up on the counter. "Sell anything today?"

"No hug today, sell anything today." Turtle rolled her eyes. "You get gremlin bit today so that all you can do is ask stupid questions you already know the answers to?"

Marco considered this. "What happens if I say yes?"

"Then you'd be screwed," Turtle said, "because that's actually a good question, thus negating the theory that you can only ask stupid questions."

Might be slow or spotty due to work and general BLARGness.
