The Park, Saturday Evening

The ceremony had been beautiful. And the evening was only getting started. The guests were ushered into the large tent that had been erected (hee) in the park earlier in the day. The caterers had delivered and set up food and enough free alcohol to drink the entire town into a coma.

Of course, there was a special area reserved for the squirrels with dessert nuts and high-quality rum to keep Vala and Barney's smallest guests happy while they took their notes and danced the night away.

Pleased workers did a last check of the tables and cigar centerpieces before the guests and the wedding party arrived. The wedding reception was set to go exactly as planned.

[The reception, like the wedding, is open to everyone in Fandom. Once I put up some OCD Now.]

"Town," Daisy nodded her head. "Newest member of Fandom's fine police force. Where'd you move into, if you don't mind me asking?"

Oh, a police officer! Sarah always felt comfortable with cops, and she relaxed slightly and smiled more. She might stop in at their offices Monday to find out a little more about the invasions.

"The Malchanceaux Harris Apartments," she said, not stumbling on the French. "Apartment six? Where are you?"

"Same," Daisy nodded. "Apartment Eleven. Nice place; Loki's just a doll."

"I guess I need to talk to him more," Sarah commented, surprised. "He seemed a little curt, with me."

"But," she added, "it's good to know at least one person in the building."

"Really?" Daisy's head tilted slightly at Sarah's surprise but then she gave it a small shake, dismissing it for the most part. She supposed he was a bit rough around the edges, but she never minded that much. There was very little she did mind, in fact.

"Anyway, it is nice, innit? I haven't had much chance to meet many new people, so it's good to meet one in my own building."

Sarah smiled in agreement. "Does the police department keep you pretty busy?"

"So far," Daisy said, "it's mostly been reading. There are a lot of interesting cases around here to acquaint myself with."
