There's so much stuff to look at! If Coyote knew anything at all about modern American politics, he might point out that the native culture could be considered the most patriotic stuff you could get. . . .

But he doesn't, so he won't.

He's got a packet of Kool-aid.

And wondering at the fact that, really, a packet of Kool-aid isn't actually all that helpful when you're dehydrated.

You'd think Pokey might've mentioned that.

Perhaps it was his conversation with Ino that made Ichigo pause as he passed the store. It wasn't really like he knew anything of native artefacts and he knew even less about being a medicine man.

Telling himself that he'd just look around, he pushed open the door and entered the shop. He had a feeling that looking around thing wouldn't take too long.

Coyote turned to grin widely at the new customer. "Welcome to my store!" He blinked, then studied Ichigo for a moment. "Ooooo."

Ichigo blinked and stared at the shopkeeper and... "Did you just ooooo at me?"

"You've got --" Coyote waved his hands vaguely around in the air, still looking fascinated. "-- stuff."

"Stuff?" Ichigo repeated and he glanced around the room. "Did you drink?"

"Not yet, but that's not what I'm talking about." Coyote waved his hands around again, as though gesturing at some sort of aura around Ichigo. "You must know it's there."

For a second, he had the feeling that he did but then... It couldn't be. "What are you going on about?"

Was this guy just dense, or was he being sneaky?

"You know, the spirit stuff."

With Ichigo it was a good guess to go with both. Judging from the way he was staring at Coyote however, it might have been fair to think it was mostly the first part.

He quickly checked around him, making sure no one else was there to overhear. "Are you a Quincy?" he asked in a hushed voice.

"Like that Adams guy?" What? Coyote had totally popped in around President John Quincy Adams' time. "No, my name is Coyote."

"Quincy as in..." No, if he didn't know what that was, then Ichigo shouldn't bother explaining. "I'm Ichigo Kurosaki," he replied and then paused, quite possibly waiting for an explanation on who exactly Coyote was.

Coyote nodded. "Congratulations. You can start next week."

That wasn't an explanation!

"Start what?" Why did he have a bad feelign about this?

Coyote kinda sucked at explanations.

"The job. Wednesdays work for you?"

"Yes," he mumbled before he could stop himself and he blinked. "I mean no! I didn't apply for a job!" Did he?

"You're more qualified than anyone else who's come in here. You have spirit stuff!" Coyote was obviously quite pleased with this.

Ichigo glanced around at the store. "And this will help selling tourist junk how?"

Coyote tilted his head. "If you don't want the job and think this is junk, why did you come in here?"

He opened his mouth until he realised that he had no good reason. So he just went for the truth. "I was bored." Part of the truth.

Coyote nodded. "That's why you sell junk to people. It's fun."

Ichigo crossed his arms. "Why?"

Coyote grinned. "Because they don't need it."

Buy some stuff!
