Turtle & Canary, Sunday November 9

This season called Autumn was very interesting. He'd awoken early this morning and taken his time as he walked through town, enjoying the sight of the changing colors.

Now he was settled behind the counter, writing in his journal and humming a little.

Yes, humming.

Tully was coming in for some building supplies, but he froze at the sight of the cheery alien.

"I'm uh, here to get some building supplies." Tully said, still staring.

Tully finally managed to shake off the shock and surprise but still couldn't help a few odd looks. "I need some electricians tools."

They were what Tully had been looking for, and then some. He frowned confused at the potato, but shrugged. "That seems to be what I'm needing, thanks."

"I'm restoring the lighthouse and the keeper's dwelling." Tully explained.

"It's gonna be really something once I get it done. Though, given that I'm at it by myself, it might be a while. If you don't mind me asking, what are you?"

"Not real ones. I may have seen a UFO once or twice, but I can't be sure."

"I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, what with, Talking Frogs and people raised by fairies."

Tully looked at him skeptically. "Are you messing with me?" he asked.

"I really might have to do that." Tully said. Unicorns had never really entered into his youthful fantasies. He'd liked Cowboy and Pirate movies, not so much the Fantasy stuff. But still, Unicorn.

"And if he is there, I'll owe you an apology."

Tully laughed. Well the guy might look bizaare, but he seemed to be alright. "You'll have earned it."

Cal and a little grey tiger kitten came into the shop that day, and then returned, a moment later, with a few ribbons, and a little decorative soap shaped like a cat. Cal set the ribbons and the soap on the counter, and then, after some convincing claws against his leg, he set the kitten on the counter, too.

The kitten seemed very invested in meowing at G'Kar and getting his attention.

"It's Amber," Cal offered helpfully, since he knew Amber worked here and therefor knew the guy. He nodded at the cat, whose tail was swishing back and forth as she playfully reared back to make it look like, if he wasn't careful, she was going to pounce G'Kar. Cal fished his wallet out of his back pocket, "We're buying the ribbons and the soap."

"She picked them out," he added, and she purred very proudly over her choices.

Cal held up his hands as a gesture of involvement. "Totally not my idea," he said. "We were bored and somehow it came up. She obviously likes the idea of ribbons a lot better than I do."

Amber promptly reached her paws up to land on G'Kar's face.

She seemed to like doing that; it was funny.

"And she's a lot cuter than I was," Cal added. "But I try not to say that too much because it'll just go to her head."

And now Amber was attempting a game, if G'Kar was still in range, a game she couldn't play with anyone else nearly as easily, one that could probably be called Paw Every Dot You Can.

"Since Thursday. I came by the ask her a question about the play, and found her like this."

"I don't know," Cal said, slipping a wry grin toward the cat. "I kind of like her this way. Talks less and doesn't hit as hard."

There was a rather quick swipe, and Cal winced, cradling his hand.

"But she does have claws," he amended with a lament.

Amber, claws tucked back in safely, pawed at G'Kar's finger.

"Me, neither," Cal admitted with a grin. "Sounds like a good description of her if I ever heard one."
