Android's Dungeon: Friday

Dor was having a long conversation with the video game cartridge from the latest James Bund movie. The name puzzled him quite a bit and the whole secret spy and guns thing puzzled him even more.

All in all he'd stick to the world of magic and normal stuff like that.

Coming in looking for the boss-lady, Turtle hadn't expected to see Dor, but it was a nice sort of surprise. "Oh, man," she commented after a look around the place, "bet you just get an earful around here, Dor..."

"I'm actually here to track down your boss," Turtle said. "I'm hoping to interview her for my weekly feature in the Fandom High Times."

"Pretty sure," Turtle said with a grin. "I'm not much of a comic book, video game, or tiny figurine kind of person. Not unless they have a comic about Wall Street or something. Then maybe I'll be interested."

"I...guess so," Turtle said slowly after a moment, blinking at the comics and wondering if she wanted Dor working in Turtle & Canary or if they were too pushy for her tastes. "You hardly have to do any work at all."

"No comic books in Xanth?" Turtle asked, chuckling slightly.

"Well," Turtle pointed out, "you guys don't exactly need fantasy role playing games when you've got spells and creatures and magic everywhere, do you?"

Sarah was in her office, dealing with paperwork and then trying to get the program on her computer that let her chat with General Beckman to connect so she could file a report.

She was not having much luck with either.

After chatting with Dor for a bit, Turtle got to business and went and knocked on the office door.

Sarah glanced up, realized she didn't recognize the girl, and hit a key combination that locked her computer on a screen saver of frolicking puppies. "Morning!" she greeted. "Can I help you with anything?"

"Good morning!" Turtle greeted back as she stepped into the office. "Hopefully, you can. My name is Turtle Wexler, and I'm a writer for the Fandom High Times, among other things. I'm doing a weekly feature on new business in the area, and was wondering if you could spare some time to have the Android's Dungeon featured?"

In a split second, Sarah weighed her options. She didn't like the idea of too much scrutiny, but turning the girl down would probably be even worse in that light.

Better to get it over with and not be too interesting.

"Sure," she said. "I'm Sarah and I run things around here." Which Turtle obviously knew, if she was knocking on the office door, but anyhow.

"What kinds of things do you want to know?"

"Well, Miss Walker," Turtle said, pulling out a little notebook and already jotting a thing or two down, "let's start out simply. Why don't you tell our readers a little bit about your business?"

Sarah nodded; she could do this. "Android's Dungeon is a one-stop shop for comic and gaming needs," she began. "And we also have a small stock of related items -- action figures, posters, a few video games and DVDs. I've been here two weeks now and I'm really happy with business so far."

Turtle wrote that down carefully. "Are you a comic book aficionado yourself, Miss Walker?"

"You know, I wasn't," Sarah said, leaning forward. "I sort of inherited this job. But I've really been reading a lot to try to educate myself, and I'm enjoying some of them."

"Inherited it?" Turtle asked, head tilting with interest.
