MHA Lobby, Wednesday
Sometime between Monday and today, Loki had gone to the mainland and purchased himself a dart board complete with the sharpest set of darts he could buy. It was now set up behind the desk and he was lazily shooting them, striking the bullseye almost every single time. The times he missed were mostly just fucking flukes when he got distracted by his thoughts, such as they were.
There were currently four darts stuck in the board and he was currently tossing the fifth one up in the air, catching it between two fingers, sharp point down. This would be one of those things mothers would tell their kids not to do, you could cut yourself, take your fucking eye out, stab someone without meaning to.
Loki hadn't stabbed ANYONE accidentally. They'd all been on purpose. Ah, memories.
He tossed the dart one last time, snagging it out of the hair and hurling it towards the board hard and with pinpoint accuracy. After admiring his handiwork for a moment, he retrieved the darts and started flinging them as hard as he could at the dartboard. Maybe he was picturing someone's face there. Maybe not.
[MHA is open, of course!]

Returning a while later, he placed the keys on the desk. "I'll think about it," he said, then added: "Do you work here often?"

He set the dart down, sharp point in the air.
"Christmas decorations were a fluke. I was caught in a mood or some shit."

Then she offered out her hand. "Let me have a go? It's been forever," as in almost never, "since I've played darts, but one throw to start the day sounds good."

...she missed her mark, just a little low and to the left, but didn't seem to bothered with a little laugh. "Well," she said, "that's not too bad."
Re: Talk to Loki!
Of course he'd been watching.
"Wanna try it again?"
He pulled the dart off the board and offered it to her.
Re: Talk to Loki!
And she threw again, this time hitting along the centre, but far too high of the bull's-eye. It still stuck with a surprising resilience, though, as if it didn't matter that it wasn't hitting the right spot, it was going to hit as hard as it could.
Re: Talk to Loki!
He reached for another dart, leaving hers in the board and came to stand next to her so he could fling a dart. It was thrown fairly hard and unfailingly accurate, sticking to the bullseye easily.

She returned to split the darts, keeping two to herself and offer the other two to Loki, even as he was getting comfortable against the wall.
Re: Talk to Loki!
He touched the end of one dart, just making sure they were still sharp.
"So your assumption isn't an assumption in that it's a fact. I'm not that big a fan of facts anyway, you know. I can know all about a person or a place of a thing but knowing and experiencing are really different things."

Re: Talk to Loki!
"Getting the good facts is hard work," she offered, "and where it starts to get interesting. Have to be ready to dig a bit, but the digging's the fun work."
Re: Talk to Loki!
Re: Talk to Loki!
"Exactly. Take those last two throws," she said, nodding toward the board. "Fact is, neither of us hit the bull's-eye. But did either of us hit our mark?"
Re: Talk to Loki!
He still had a dart left. He didn't hesitate in flinging it towards the board, placing it much more accurately this time.
Re: Talk to Loki!
Re: Talk to Loki!
But he had.
He dug it out of the pocket of his jeans and held it out. "See. Still in all it's fucking broken glory."
Re: Talk to Loki!
Re: Talk to Loki!
"Um, don't work too hard or too long or whatever the hell I'm supposed to say here," he said, momentarily fumbling the words. "And if you ever wanna play a longer game or something whatever, just let me know."
