T&C: Thursday

One good thing about being a guy who can duplicate himself is that he can stuff his face on this special day of days and still work a job.

Unfortunately it was this duplicate who ended up stuck at Turtle and Canary.

But since there was Turducken? He was working and stuffing his face.

Best of both worlds really. Except for the working part. Shush.

"I should have taken you to Detroit," Jamie replied with a grin. "You haven't seen dysfunctional until you seen the other me fight with himself for a drumstick."

"Did you plan on going home?"

There was a pause before she realized he might be there already. "Or are you there now?"

It was still odd to think about.

"Nah, they're still on the run from the government. Having me show up would throw a wrench or something. Or I'd get sucked into massaging Terry's big feet," Jamie shrugged. "Besides I knew that inevitably you'd show up and I'd have to explain the crazy holiday thing to you. I kinda like that part of our relationship."

"If you tell me something wrong, I'm going to hit you," She warned.

"Would I do that?" Jamie asked trying to look innocent. "No really, I'm pretty much telling the truth. The whole holiday started with a bunch of pilgrims decided to celebrate their first year living here in America."

"Yes you would." Because he was him. "So they celebrate with roasted birds?"

"It's a traditional food thing," Jamie said with a nod. "Though usually with just turkey. Not with this thing that keeps showing up everywhere. And usually there's stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie."

"What is the thing then?" She asked, eying it warily.

"It's a Turducken," Jamie replied. "It's a chicken stuffed into a duck and then stuffed into a turkey. Don't ask me who came up with the idea."

"Huh." Temari shook her head and leaned against the counter. "Does this mean we will have turkey after you're done with work?"

"We can if you want," Jamie offered with a nod. "I think there's a thanksgiving thing going on over at the school today. We could go to that or just have a turkey sandwich and watch bad movies in a common room. Do you have any holidays like this back home?"

"We have something in the fall to celebrate the season change, but nothing like this," She replied. "It's more a village thing. Everyone dresses up and there are games and fireworks."

"Dresses up? Like a dance kind of thing?" Jamie asked. "Maybe we should do that. I think I can dig up some fireworks from the fourth of July."

"Like formal kimonos," Temari said with a laugh. "The kind you need someone else's help to get into."

Oh did she sound thrilled about those.

"I think some girls around here feel the same way about their evening gowns," Jamie pointed out. "So are you ready for the traditional Thanksgiving question?"

Temari gave him a look but nodded anyway. "What's the traditional question?"

"What are you most thankful for this year?" Jamie said leaning his chin on his hand.

Snorting, Temari looked away. "I'm thankful that you didn't get into a real fight with my brother."

"Well I guess that's something," Jamie replied with a smirk. "Anything else?"

She was thankful he wasn't dead and neither was she.

"Should there be?"

"Oh I don't know," Jamie shrugged and still continuing to smirk. "Anything about... good friends? Good food? Tyra Banks giving The Soup plenty of ammo to talk about?"

"I'm sure you can name enough things to be thankful for for the both of us," Temari replied, grabbing him by the shirt and smiling once softly before kissing him.

And that was all she would do to let him know what she was thankful for.

There was blinking and then grinning. Lot's of grinning.

"Let me guess? Discovering chocolate?"

"That," She said, beaming. "I can be thankful for that."

"Turning into a pony?"

"Movies," She suggested dryly instead.

"Broom closets?" Jamie teased as he slipped his arms around Temari's waist.

"I suppose I could be thankful for those."

"Well without them there would just be brooms everywhere," Jamie joked. "It would be bedlam."

"Do you have keys to Cable's apartment?" Jamie tease.

That got him a smack on the arm. "You have a death wish, Madrox."
