Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

To someone who was from a galaxy far, far away and had been to so many planets with far too many local customs to remember all of them, Thanksgiving wasn't anything too special. It was just another harvest festival, only it wasn't done with nearly the style or stench of a harvest festival on Kashyyyk. Wookiees knew how to party.

So this weekend was just another weekend to Jolee.

Tino, on the other hand, was wearing a hat shaped like a turkey.

[OOC: I may be a little slow tonight. I just got The Force Unleashed for Nicksgiving and I may be tempted to play it right now.]

Tino the Turkey-Hatted Bartender brought over Daisy's drink.

"I'm sorry for his hat," Jolee said. "I don't think he realizes that it's technically leftovers now."

[OOC: OMG, how could you? Pinging and fleeing. Well I never.]

Daisy held up her hands. "I honestly wasn't planning on asking."

"Good. That makes it easier on everyone involved," Jolee said. He wasn't even sure where someone would find a hat like that.

Daisy nodded in agreement. "Last thing I'd want to do right now is complicate anything. It's finally the weekend, and all that complexity can just shoo for a bit."

"You've had a long week, I take it?" Jolee asked.

"Long past few days," Daisy said, sighing slightly and taking a decent sip of her drink.

"At least nobody you work with was wearing a bird on his head," Jolee pointed out. "It's a small victory, but a victory nonetheless."

It didn't take long at all for Daisy to chuckle a little to herself at the image of either Dale or Ray with such a hat, and she conceded, lightly, "You've a very good point there. Does he do things like this often?"

"Specifically like this? No," Jolee said. "Do thinks just to aggravate the old man? Yes."

"...At least there's plenty of booze around while he does it?" Daisy offered.

"I tend not to touch the stuff to be honest," Jolee said. "My hope is that senility will take over any second now and that will help me out."

"Ah, yes," Daisy said, eying the man with just a bit of concern. "Mild dementia is always a good solution."

"Hey, you've got to use what you have," Jolee said. "I have old age."

"And," Daisy pointed out with a gesture toward the bar, "alcohol entirely at your disposal."

"That's artificial," Jolee said. "No, it's natural senility or nothing. It's healthier for you."

"But you just said," Daisy pointed out, "that you've got to use what you have. I'll definitely not argue the natural benefits of the natural path, but I'm definitely one to argue flaws in logic."

There was a beat.

"Or are you just going to blame the oversight on the early stages of the senility?"

"I like the sound of that second choice," Jolee said. "Now, what were we talking about?"

Jolee thought he was funny.

Daisy, at least, thought it was mildly amusing. Enough to grin, and hold out her glass. "Getting me another drink. You know, ginko biloba is supposed to be great for memory. Maybe a little hawthorn. A dash more rosemary in your cooking."

"You know a lot about herbs?" Jolee asked as he poured another drink for Daisy. "Do you know anything that might help arthritis?"

Not that he had arthritis. And he had educated himself on local herbs shortly after coming here since making medicines was a hobby of his, so really he was just messing with Daisy.

"Arthritis," Daisy narrowed her eyes a little in thought. "Not something that's much of a concern for me right now, to be honest, but I think a little ginger or angelica or ginseng's said to work a little."

"How about hair loss?" Jolee asked. "That one's of mild importance to me, as you might be able to tell."

"A toupee?" Daisy offered, after taking a moment to access the details of this particular ailment, which was a few steps beyond the reach of herbs at this point.

"What kind of plant does that come from?" Jolee asked.
