Caritas - Tuesday Evening [Open]

Marshall had made sure the place was extra clean tonight and that the zombies were extra taped up because of the karaoke contest tonight. He was glad to help the students out but he was a bit pouty. He didn't want to work. He wanted to sing! Luckily Chuck walked in just in time.

"Hey Barney Jr," Marshall said, waving Chuck over. "I've got a favor to ask."

Chuck looked Marshall over. "There's not enough money in the world."

"What? Ew. I don't even want to know what you mean by that," Marshall said, making a face. "Can you tend bar? There's a karaoke contest in here tonight and I want to to watch. Can you tend bar?"

Chuck opened his mouth to say no but found himself getting pushed over towards the bar.

"Great, thanks, don't kill anybody," Marshall said quickly before heading over towards the stage.

Chuck bitchfaced.

"Deadpool!" Rikku grinned, and bounced over.

He should be happy it wasn't a tackleglomp.

"Minion!" Deadpool grinned, and waved with his blue blue drink.

"I'm gonna sing!" she announced. "So it might suck and I'm hoping it's not gonna and I sooooo can't get hammered, I have to sing first."

"Should I worry about your sanity with singing?" Deadpool asked slowly.

"Nope," she chirped. "Just your eardrums. I just feel like singing, I haven't in a while and I wanna get loud. Are you gonna sing? There's a contest!"

"I've got a husky voice that wouldn't be fair to the kids to beat them so badly at the singing."

"Come onnnn," Rikku said, trying her very best puppy-dog eyes. "Just one song? It'd be awesome."

"Can it be something edgy and hip?" Deadpool asked after a moment.

"That would rule," Rikku grinned. "You can get down with your bad self."

"Maybe." A beat. "After I've had more to drink."

"I had one for my nerves, and I'm swearing off until after I sing," Rikku said. "'Cause otherwise I'm gonna giggle too much to sing well."

"It better be rock and roll or I disown you as a minion," Deadpool said.

"Pop-rock," she promised. "Lots of guitar. I wanted to get growly and kinda loud. I don't get that mood very often."

"...Is it Britney Spears?"

"Noooooo," she promised, blushing a little. "I mean, I usually like her stuff? But that's not pop-rock. It's all processed, kinda, and I wanted something that felt more ... yell-y. And I don't think she sings very well."

That last bit was hard for her to admit.

"She growls, Rikku," He said, not unkindly. And patted her on the shoulder. "But you could always go for good music. You know... The Kinks."
