The Onsen, Saturday Afternoon

The last time Hannibal had been here, he'd been cold and unprepared for taking any sort of swim even in something as warm as the onsen. Today, he was still a little cold but he had a towel and a proper swimsuit. And, while Toby was always good company, he sort of preferred the company he had with him today.

"Nice, right?" he asked, waving a hand at the onsen. "I was right."

[For his company but open place in town is open, of course.]

"No, if I don't make it up to you now, I'll do it tomorrow," he promised.

Angela shook her head with a grin. "Promises, promises," she said. "You know, you haven't really proved you're not all talk yet."

"Is someone laying down a challenge?" he asked, amused and pleased all at once.

"I just can't let the opportunity lie there," Angela replied.

"And I haven't proven that I'm not all talk yet?" he asked. "Really?"

"You have and you haven't," she allowed with a little smirk. "Semantics."

"You're baiting me," he said and scooted a little closer to her.

Angela shrugged innocently, still grinning at him. She's just a little bit shameless sometimes. No point in denying it.

"And what if I called your bluff and got out?" he asked, making no move to do anything of the sort.

"Your loss," she said easily.

"Oh, you're good tonight," he said and flicked some water at her. He smiled at her for a moment longer before he leaned closer to her, stopping barely before he kissed her. "Aren't you?"

"It does seem to be working out for me," she remarked quietly.

"Think so, huh?" he asked, smiling at her and staying where he was.

"I'm going to go with yes," Angela said, grinning back. "I'm an optimist."

"Well, whaddya know," he said and grinned. "This time, you're right."

And he closed that last bit of distance to kiss her lightly. She could tease, he could too.

"I'm always right," Angela murmured, slipping her hands over his shoulders.

"Everyone's wrong sometimes," he declared quietly. "Sometimes being wrong isn't so bad."

"But a bit of confidence never hurts," she said. "I'm going with that."

"No, it doesn't hurt at all," he agreed. "Need more convincing about not being all talk?"

Angela smiled at him mischievously. "Oh, definitely," she decided.

She so doesn't. But why say that?

"I figured you'd say that," he said, giving her another smile before leaning closer for another, longer kiss.

Sometimes, it was worth being a little bit predictable.

This was one of those times she was going to go with that, she decided, happily kissing him back.

Hannibal slipped closer, winding one arm around her waist and pulling her a smidge closer to him to make the kissing and the holding easier.

One of the benefits of this place, other than it just being nice and warm, was the way being slightly floaty made it all really quite easy.

Angela just wrapped her arms around his neck, and tipped her head back a little, just for comfort's sake.

"Better be glad I don't take advantage of this and dunk you," he teased, moving to kiss her chin.
