There were plants over the doors today. Viki idly considered them but most of her attention was on that fact that, yes, as she had supposed yesterday, a day of sugar was nothing to indulge in too often and she felt vaguely ill from it.

And drowsy, though she tried to fight that since she was at work.

It was crowded at the Gig today. Rosie, sitting on the steps of the smithy while she whittled, was watching in bemusement as each hour brought more animals out of the woods.

The sugar snow had blown up in drifts against the buildings of the Gig, creating serve yourself mounds of pure sweetness. Which, it seemed, were irresistible to critters. The horses were jealously guarding the piles in their paddock, Bold seeing off several foxes, a rabbit, and a flock of crows who had tried to share.

As the lump of wood in her hands slowly took shape, Rosie -- who was rather enjoying the background noise of happy (and slightly wired) animals -- indulged in a short but odd day dream of becoming a door to door sugar saleswoman.

[ooc: woah, late. I'm off to the Island of Ikea now, too, so it'll be many hours before I return to pick up pings. Also, this post brought to you in part by The Simpsons.]

The cold and toothache double combo was almost entirely vanquished, but that didn't prevent Turtle from having a rather thematic sale today.

Sale!
Buy one bottle of NyQuil, get a bottle of DayQuil free!
And Vice-Versa

Thankfully, it seemed that she had gotten to the store before the mistletoe had. But she couldn't help but notice that Apu was sweeping by the door an awful lot today, which was just weird.

Today's Squishy flavors: Orange, Menthol, Grape Judas

Turtle & Canary is open!

The last time Hannibal had been here, he'd been cold and unprepared for taking any sort of swim even in something as warm as the onsen. Today, he was still a little cold but he had a towel and a proper swimsuit. And, while Toby was always good company, he sort of preferred the company he had with him today.

"Nice, right?" he asked, waving a hand at the onsen. "I was right."

[For his company but open place in town is open, of course.]

It was probably a good thing Juno didn't know what the plants were in the doorways. There'd be a lot of frowning and careful walking going on.

Since she didn't, though, she was going about her work, and spending time with the animals just because she could.

[Mostly afk today, so OCD-free, but should be around to pick up any pings tonight.]

Hurley opened up Groovy Tunes, happy as a clam. Assuming clams are happy.

Today's music? Ringo Starr's Christmas Album.

[ooc: OCD first, please open!]

Toby found he liked this whole random mistletoe thing and sat in the doorway of a dressing room, chatting with one of the plants.

"So, try and look like, extra perky if a cute boy comes in the shop today. Not like I wouldn't kiss an ugly boy." Okay, even Toby knew that was a lie. "But I'd really like to kiss a cute one and you, like being here all of a sudden totes makes me think I'm gonna get the chance to during the day and not in some skanky club wearing too much body glitter." What was he saying? There was never too much.

Pixie Dust was open, even if the store seemed rather empty at the moment.

Jen was a little sorry about the lack of powdered sugar snow today, although the slight headache she had from yesterday's glycemic high suggested that it was probably for the best.

There was mistletoe hanging in the doorway of the restaurant, though, and she was eyeing it with no small amount of suspicion.

Maybe she could morph, really quickly, and hit it with her Vortex Blaster . . . ?

Okay, no, that would be a bad idea. But if it turned out to be inconveniently weird Fandom mistletoe she was so going to fling a pizza pan at it.

Robin was studiously ignoring the Mistletoe that was now hanging above the door. He didn't need any more reminders of his lack of a love life thank you very much.

Instead, he focused on setting up the display for the seasonal items. Such as Ultraman and Y-Men Save Christmas.
