Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

...there was a snowman in the middle of the store. A snowman. In the middle of the store. Ino finished shutting the door, and skirted around the snowman so she could get to the counter, glancing back at it dubiously as she did so.

Alrighty then! She settled in, flipping the sign to open, and pulled out one of her notebooks. The information Reno had given her was far more interesting than mulling over what Ghanima-sensei had said for the moment.

Eventually, at some point, brushing a little snow from his hair and looking back through the window to make sure that snow man wasn't still following him (it hadn't been; there'd just been several that he, in his paranoid mind, thought were the same ones), Cal came into the flower shop.

Only to find a snowman right there in his path when he turned back around, just barely avoiding colliding into it.

"Jesus fu--"

He cut himself off with a huff of air before it became a full curse, and skirted around it to find where ever Ino and the counter of this place was. Which wasn't hard to find.

"You've named it?" Cal said, as if the idea weren't at all something he might have totally done himself, and, therefor, ridiculous.

"Yuki-chan, huh?" Cal repeated, testing it out as he considered the snowman, head tilted and stroking his chin for dramatic effect.

Cal shrugged a shoulder, which then fell as he turned, back to the counter, leaning on his elbows. He looked back at Ino over his shoulder.

"I'd have named him Bob."

"I'm sorry," Cal said, "would you prefer Robert?" He rolled the Rs with the proper pomp.

It was Cal's turn to roll his eyes. "Only someone who's cute," he said, "could ever live my that motto."

There was a slight pause, as he tried to decide whether or not to continue that with a teasing contradiction, but some of his good mood from yesterday spilled over into today, especially with an easy 'exam,' so Ino was spared the playful insult this time, but she was also spared the complimenting addition he could have also made, as he left it at just that.

After his class, Liir slipped in, his cloak wrapped around him tightly.

"It feels like I haven't seen you in ages. Hello."

He stepped around the snowman, assuming that was who she meant, and even doffed an imaginary cap at the lumps of snow before turning to do the same to her.

"I've got to get a hat," he mentioned absently before giving her a smile and leaning on the counter.

"And a bit of both, to be honest. Yourself? Well, I should hope."

"My water isn't even worth a bath yet," he said of his own major project. The concept itself was simple enough, but all the variables involved had his head spinning more often than not.

"Are you head home for the holiday? Is it celebrated where you live, actually?"

"Oz isn't exactly hospitable for the moment," he said, though she knew as much, "though I'll probably celebrate Lurlinemas with my father."

He grinned and let his head tilt to one side with mock fatigue.

"You mentioned things not having reached a boiling point."

"Helping the Princess Nastoya," he told her, "and no, it's a couple of days before. I'll have to see when Father has time for a dinner or something."

He reached into his bag then and pulled out a little gingerbread mouse, wrapped in a small bag with a ribbon around.

"Happy Lurlinemas," he said as he held it out.

"Obviously a bit early but I wouldn't want them to harden up."

He just nodded his head a little awkwardly and smiled, glad to see her happy with it. It seemed... apropos. Right. To give his sister a mouse.
