Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

"Finally!" Jolee said. "Praise the Force, the holidays are all over!"

That's when Jolee saw Tino bringing a box of red paper hearts to the bar.

"That's not funny. Go put that box away. And put something heavy on top of it so you're not tempted to bring it back out for a month!"

[OOC: Open, but I will probably be a little slow. Mod Tino for speed. Wait for me for awesomeness.]

After a long hard day of working on the house and knowing that tomorrow was even bigger, Minsc knew there was but one thing on the menu.

"Fetch me a mug of moderately strong ale," he declared as he took a seat, "and some water for my hamster!"

"As you wish," Jolee said. "Tino? Get the ale."

Jolee fetched a saucer of water for the tiny little animal while Tino brought over Minsc's drink.

"Are the two of you all prepared for the influx of new people tomorrow?" Jolee asked.

"And then some!" Minsc answered, although if anyone asked how you could be prepared and then some, he wouldn't really know what to say. It was more of a feeling, anyway. "How about yourself? I am very sure that there will be quite a few thirsty throats in search of drink and song after they arrive in this place!" He chuckled. "Good business for you, barkeep!"

"Eh, I've been through a few of these now," Jolee said. "The first day tends to be really busy, then it comes back down to normal unpredictable levels. Fortunately, I'm not behind the bar tomorrow night."

"So you can just reap in the benefits!" Minsc observed, feeling very business-savvy for having noticed.

"And save myself the headaches," Jolee said. "That's why it's nice to be the boss around here."

"And let me just say," Minsc said, "that you run a fine establishment here! It is one of the nicest taverns I have seen outside of Baldur's Gate, and still a good deal nicer than many of those! It's surprisingly clean for a place with dead people!"

"I take cleanliness very seriously," Jolee said. "I think it may be the senility making me forget when I've already cleaned the place, which means I end up cleaning it over and over until I need a nap."

"I find I do that a lot myself," Minsc disclosed, "only, instead of cleaning, it's hitting things. And instead of finding out that I've cleaned it over and over, I actually find out that it's dead. And there isn't usually a nap involved so much as it's hitting something new that hits back and being rendered unconscious."

Same thing, though.

"When you get old, you'll need that nap before hitting something new," Jolee promised.

"Are we speaking old, relatively speaking, or old as in ancient, because, relatively speaking," and yes, this made sense in Minsc's head, "I'm old for where I'm from. Most people are dead by my age, but, once they reach it, they seem to never, ever die."

Like Eliminster. Eliminster would put this barkeep's wrinkles to shame.

"Old is a state of mind," Jolee said. "The state where you want a nap after doing some tough work. And possible feel arthritis kicking in. And want to yell at young people more than you used to."

Minsc considered that carefully.

Yup, that sounded like Eliminster, already.

He scratched his hairless head. "I shall keep a vigilant watch out for the signs, barkeep! Thank you for the warning!"

"Any time," Jolee said. "I'm just glad I could help."

Table dancing. But only until Jolee notices you and throws you out.
