The Perk, Wednesday Early Afternoon

Mina sat, feeling highly undignified and rather agitated. Her limited wardrobe was becoming more limited by the day. Today, her restroom required her sing.

That was not something people did. You simply did not sing to the plumbing.

However, she had sung. Needs had dictated it so.

And that was why Mina was brooding in the coffee shop.

[ooc: Highly open!]

Jack needed something to drink. It was too early for Caritas; maybe he could drown his problems in caffeine. Maybe. He looked around to see if there was anyone he knew.

Someone new? Must be. Grabbing his oversized cup of wake-up juice, he approached her. "Hi! I'm Jack. Are you one of the new teachers?"

"Oh. I don't get to the clinic often." Or get out on the town much. "I'm Jack. Jack Burton. I go to school here."

"Yeah, we Burtons are healthy like oxes," he replied with a grin. "Well, if I ever need it, I'll ask for Missus Harker," he stated.

"Jones and Tam? I'll try to remember them, too," he said, his face scrunched in thought. "That's good to know."

"Well, if I really need to go to the clinic, I'd have to call in the calvary. Takes a lot to take down a Burton."

Or something falling on his noggin.

"Thanks! You're not from around here?" Jack was not preening, he was just...enjoying what he thought was a compliment.

In liu of coffee, Tully had taken Mr. Twain out for a ride. That always helped to wake him up. And now he was ready for some hot chocolate.

His clothes were clean. Though he did now have a ring around his bathtub. He'd be glad when this strange strike thing was over, but in the meantime he was glad he didn't have to be reliant on technology.

They weren't ironed though. That was something he'd never actually learned how to do.

"Morning Mrs." he smiled at Mina, tipping his hat. He hadn't gotten around to finding a book on English manners yet.

Now if he remembered correctly, striking up a conversation had been kind of against her customs. But did that still count if they were already acquainted? Maybe he really should go find a book about it. Besides he hadn't seen Millie in a while.

Well, one of the best ways to learn something...

"Since we've met once before is it still too forward for me to strike up a conversation?"

Tully nodded, filing the information away. "It does. I'm a little bewildered by the deliberately malfunctioning equipment though."

"I've had the benefit of learning how to wash clothes without fancy machines." he said. "But I do miss coffee."

Tully had thankfully not had any problem with the toilet. It might be because he had a tendency to sing in the shower anyway. But even a savage american like him knew better than to talk about those things in front of a lady.

"Just one of the many things that make Fandom unique I suppose."

"Yeah I hope it gets resolved soon. Not that I have any idea who they should be negotiating with."
