Caritas - Tuesday Evening [Open]

Marshall came into the bar tonight with leftover Chinese food and a basketball in tow. The cold didn't bother him; he was from Minnesota after all. Marshall was the biggest fan snow ever had. He just wished his brothers were around so they could play baskiceball.

Daisy was thinking she had to be absolutely crazy, going out in this weather when she'd been all but promised a very cozy night of watching the snow, all on a phonecall that could have ended up God knew where. But there she was, anyway, especially since she knew that the alternative was just a bit too cozy and curiosity of potentially missing something interesting would be nagging at her the whole night if she'd gone the other route. She shrugged off her coat as she took a seat, commenting, "Wonderful snow we're having, innit?"

The enthusiastic response made Daisy laugh. "Good thing, then, because there sure is a lot of it out there."

Daisy chuckled. "Pity it isn't fog, then. I could take you in fog, in a second."

There was a slight pause.

"And maybe lots and lots of cold, persistent, dreary old rain."

"Nah," Daisy agreed, "it isn't. But that's what it's like in London about eighty percent of the time. I could do with more snow like this."

"Not the same," Daisy said, "but I imagine somewhat similar in some of the outer bits? I wouldn't know; before coming here, I hadn't left London much at all."

"Geographically, just fine," Daisy said, a bit wryly. "I think that's a bit down on the list of things to get adjusted to 'round here."

"A couple," Daisy said with a nod. "And unwittingly wrecked a little havoc of my own with a few gone amiss to God knows where."

Oh, it was really a shame that she couldn't see the expressions on the recipients' faces when a few of those calls went through.

Daisy really didn't even need to think about an answer to that. "Definitely not. Is that even possible?"

Daisy looked a little reluctant that she was about to say what she was going to, but out it came, anyway.

"Turn-about is fair-play," she pointed out. "We've been bearing the burden since the dawn of humankind, it wouldn't hurt you boys to pick up the brunt just a little."

"That's what?" Daisy asked, quite proud of herself for managing to look sincerely curious instead of just busting out laughing. "Completely and utterly fair? I'm sure with all the advances being made every day in medical science..."

"Yeah, you're right," Daisy finally allowed a grin to slip by. "You boys complain too much for it; aren't tough enough to handle it."

"Awwww." A comment like that, and Daisy couldn't rightly tease him anymore. She chuckled a little, grinning. "That makes you stronger than most men, then."
