Okay, seriously, Ino liked the cold. What she did not like was a lack of heat inside. What did the power do to deserve that? She was totally sulking. Compounding that was the fact that she’d actually, you know, had to go outside and then was actually expected to work.

Ino was so totally bundled up today with a scarf and mittens and a hat (and, in a fit of trying to entertain herself, the red hoodie that Romeo had lent her eons ago and she'd just, uh, forgotten to give it back), and once the utter basics of keeping the shop looking good were done she tracked down the spare blanket and huddled under it in Cable-san’s chair.

"Morning!" she chirped, from somewhere in her little ball of blanket. "I think that the power should stay on forever and ever, did you know?"

He made his way to the ball of blanket.

"I utterly agree," he said, though 'power' was a relatively new concept for him.

"Hot chocolate?"

And he held out a disposable, lidded cup of the stuff that nonetheless wafted enticingly.

"Yes, please!" she said as one mittened hand left her 'fort' and she grinned up at him. "Thank you. I think I might train, or something, later 'cause moving around has to keep me warmer, right?"

He passed it to her.

"You're welcome. I'll make sure to leave you soup if you'd like as well. Training does sound like a good idea, though... careful with the sweat. It can overchill you."

"Ewww, that's true. Don't want to make this worse." She sipped at it, humming happily. "Maybe a bit, please, though I've got to go and see people today so I'll be grabbing lunch out there too."

And maybe go and hug Johnny for awhile. That sounded awesome.

"A cup of the chowder," he said and pulled that out for the counter.

"I'm heading around to the different businesses and dropping off food. You, of course, got first dibs."

So, he was already out, he was doing things, he might as well see who else was crazy enough to be going to work and trying to do business in a damn blizzard.

Somehow, he wasn't surprised to see that Ino was indeed one of them.

"You know," he commented, "in a power outage, this is the kind of place people are most likely to ransack."

"Then I get to beat them up!" she chirped, giving him a wave from where she was wrapped in a blanket (and wearing her mittens and everything). "And Cable-san would even approve, 'long as I gave them fair warning."

Cal snorted a little at that. "Fair warning? 'Hey, you, put down that AK-47, or else I'm going to punch you in the face'?"

"Well," she said slowly, pretending to consider it, "to get to the AK-47's you'd have to, you know, break through the locked cases, so I think I'd be okay with punching them out at that point."

"What if it was a riot?" Cal asked. "And they all rushed you and there were too many people to punch in the face all at once?"

He'd lived through a riot before; he felt he had at least a little authority that, no matter how good of a ninja Ino might be, she probably wouldn't be able to hold that well by herself in one. If it was just one or two guys, sure, not a problem, but a riot?

Not that he imagined one. It was way too quiet and peaceful out there to inspire a riot.

"I'd... hit the security alarm," she said, wishing futilely she could claim to be able to stop a riot all by herself, but seriously knew it was so not happening, "and hope that Cable-san's somewhere 'round 'cause if you think he can't handle a riot you're insane, and then do my best to keep them out of the show 'til he came."

Cal nodded. "So you could hold down the fort. Good. Good to know. If a riot starts, maybe I'll come hide out here."

After class, there was a very cold Dōjima dashing into the shop, shaking snow from her hair.

"Ohaiyo, Yamanaka-san! What do you say to getting hot, wet, and naked this week? Assuming the onsen isn't closed because of snowmonsters or something like that, of course."

"If there's snowmonsters, then I hope they stay away from me!" she said, still all wrapped in her blanket. "And I would love to get hot, wet, and naked, Dōjima-san! Ohaiyo!"

Because that deserved giggling.

It was fun to say, that's why Dōjima had done it.

"Although if the heat stays out, we might wind up having company if it occurs to people that the onsen is probably one of the few warm places in town," she said, making a face. "We'll have to lay in supplies and prepare for a siege!"

There were worse places to live during a snow storm.

"Wonder if they'd go for the fact that we're upholding our cultural heritage and join us in the naked?" she mused. "And supplies might be a good idea."

"We'd probably end up with that nervous kid having a heart-attack, or one of the boys trying to make it totally dirty," Dōjima sighed. "Not that's a bad thing, mind you. I've heard rumors that there used to be naked mutinies or something."

"True," she said, flushing a bit. "I tried calling you 'bout it on Sunday, and uh, apparently it went to Master Skywalker. And yeah, guess how he took it?"

"I've heard 'bout the mutinies, but I haven't been in one. Too bad," she said wistfully. "I wouldn't mind. They sound like fun."

Dōjima looked at her incredulously before cracking up. "Skywalker?" she gasped, doubling over with the giggles. "Are you serious? Oh god, what did he say?"
