Chilly Boulder, Sunday evening (after Superbowl)
Dinah had gone from the party to Edward's room, and found him finally in decent shape for going out. So here they were at Chilly Boulder, ready for another new experience.
"You're sure you're feeling okay?"

But his cheeks tinged pink.
"Those white pills were amazing!"

"Priest didn't tell me about the hangover part. That part was not fun."
Oh! Look at him ignoring her other question.
"Is ice cream good, Dinah?"
no subject
See? She could totally guide Edward safely.
The T-shirt was something she was trying to ignore.

He took the little spoon and dipped it into the odd looking confection. "Vanilla," he repeated and then spooned it into his mouth where his eyes instantly went wide and his mouth fell partly open.
"Coooooold!"
But delicious! JOY!
He took another bite. And then another. The eat it slow might have gone over his head.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she had to ask. Had to. "So do you remember kissing all those girls on Friday? Or any of them?"
no subject
"Ooooh, Dinah! We should come have ice cream every single day! The strawberry is wonderful! I see why it is your favorite!"
Oh. Then cue the blushing. Deep deep blushing.
"I... yes."
no subject
At his blushing, Dinah gave him a totally sympathetic look. "Awwww. Edward. What's wrong? You had fun, and Priestly said people liked you guys."
Any jealousy she'd been feeling over not being included was overcome by concern, here.
no subject
He hung his head a little. "I shouldn't have kissed the girls, Dinah. I shouldn't have! I was invited to her room!" Flail!
no subject
At this point, she was willing to take out an ad to track this girl down.
no subject
"No one has seen her or heard of her. I'm lost."
no subject
The skank. Sheesh.
no subject
He quirked his lips at her.
"Adora."
no subject
"Chocolate chocolate chip cone," she told the counter guy, and patted Edward's shoulder.
"I guess you do what Priestly said, and learn and get new experiences. But it's okay to be sad. You miss her." Dinah's lips quirked. "How long did you know her, again?"
no subject
"Priest is a good friend! Experiences are good. What did Adora want with me in her room?"
He took a bite of the whipped cream and closed his eyes. "WONDERFUL!" he exclaimed, smiling wide.
"I knew her half a day!"
no subject
After they had a booth, she said, "Seriously? Half a day and you wanted to marry her? Edward, did you just want to get married?"
Because that was the closest she had to an explanation for that.
"And, um... I don't know Adora." There might be flailing. Or an extra-huge bite of the ice cream cone, mmmmmm, to cover Dinah's expression. "What did she say, exactly?"
no subject
"She was the one," he offered, though his tone didn't sound as sure. As though being made to think about it... made him think about it.
"I was there and she was there and she asked me to take a walk, to her room." He blushed, remembering. "I told her I was with Priest."
no subject
That was fast becoming her bench-mark for 'normal' in different people's worlds: did it happen to everybody? And if it did, she tried not to be judgey. If it didn't, well...
"Ohhh. That -- might have been a good idea. You may not be ready for the experience she was offering just yet."
She really had to ask Adora about that.
no subject
A little chocolate sauce found it's way to the corner of his mouth when he looked back at Dinah, his brows all thinky. "What experience was she offering?"
no subject
She turned red and gave her ice cream cone and extra-hard lick. "Um. I don't know her, and I wasn't there, so I don't know exactly what she said to you, but she might have been offering... uh. To do the things those two bendy girls on the TV were doing. To you."
Gulp.
no subject
He sighed in contentment and watched her lick at her cone. "That must be wonderful! Is it?"
Oh. Oh. OH! His train of thought went someplace bad.
He seemed to flail. "Oh, Dinah! OH!"
no subject
no subject
He started shoveling ice cream in his mouth.
no subject
Edward made her feel practically internationally cosmopolitan, sheesh, the dork.
no subject
"Why weren't you there, with Priest and myself. Did you not wish a kiss?"
no subject
no subject
no subject
Sometimes, you had to use your powers for evil.
no subject
He sighed.
...
"What was that? What is a girl kissy party?"
no subject
Okay, shut up now.
No, talk about, great. "Um. The girls? Were kissing other girls. At half-time, during the football party." She blushed again, then giggled. "It was nice."
Ice cream, her refuge. Take another bite to cool off your face, Dinah.
no subject
He then gasped!
"Like... on the Magic Mirror?"
no subject
"We kept our clothes on," Dinah said firmly. "And there were no horses or purple things or weird music. And it was just kissing! Nothing else!" She facepalmed, remembering everything Rikku and Angela and Brooke had said about it being a turn-on for guys. Maybe he wouldn't get it?
"Um. But yeah, I kissed a few girls, and they kissed other girls."
As for the other offer here... give her a minute. Hunh.
no subject
Thinking of girls kissing girls here, for him to see first hand, it made him think things. "I missed it," he said, sadly. "I would have liked to see this in person, Dinah. I'm terribly disappointed."
no subject
There, and shouldn't she just get huge karma points for that?
"Edward, why did kissing the girls on Friday make you all.... flaily, before?"
no subject
"Dinah! Do you really wish to know?" he asked, his cheeks turning red.
no subject
And was now wondering if she shouldn't have.
"And Sokka is the guy into boomerangs, with a top-knot. I don't know what room he's in, though."
no subject
"It did things to me, my insides, and I-" he blushed, shifted in his seat, "-Dinah, I would not be a gentleman did I tell you anything further."
no subject
no subject
"Which part, exactly?" he heard himself asking.
no subject
"All of it? The, um. Feelings. And, uh..." Another lick of the ice cream cone, and studiously not looking at Edward. "You really, really should talk to Priestly about this. He's a guy. He can explain it better, I'm sure of it."
Is it hot in here?
"Have some more ice cream!"
no subject
Adora wanted him to do those things with her? Could he?
He could try. Would that be an experience? Perhaps he should ask Priest.
He took a few more bites of ice cream. "Thank you, Dinah. This means much to me."
no subject
Even if he was really, really cute. Sigh.
But she was still going to talk to Adora. Edward needed looking out for.
no subject
Instead he smiled wide and brushed her foot with his after she tapped his first.
"Can we do this again sometime, do you think?"
