Trooper Station; Monday [ 02/02 ].

Try as she might, Daisy really couldn't help yawning a little every now and again at her desk today. She'd skipped the tea and went on to the bad coffee, which would provide a nice jolt of awareness in the form of oh, in all that's holy, that is some awful bloody coffee slaps to the face. It wasn't even just the little football party at Caritas last night. Most of it was from having gotten up early to get in before Kowalski to stuff one of his desk drawers with red peppers.

Hey, it wasn't her fault that his girlfriend had a very versatile name to help out with pranks. She worked with what was there.

[[ open station! I open today, though, so I'm likely to not be around until afternoon EST ]]

"Good morning Daisy!" Dale said cheerfully filling up his cup from the good pot of coffee. "How was your weekend?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Just about perfect," Dale said cheerfully taking a sip of coffee and then letting out an "ahhhh" of satisfaction. "Anything new and exciting going on?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well if a football does start biting people on the bums around here I'm transferring the calls to you," Dale said noting the yawn. "And there's not much going on with me. Late night?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"You should try meditation," Dale suggested. "Great way to clear the mind and relax the body. Better than a twenty minute cat nap."

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well I never knew that," Dale replied. "Good for you Daisy. Do you subscribe to a particular method?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"I didn't know that," Dale replied. "I mostly follow the tenets of Tibetan Buddhism myself. That's mostly due to the time I spent as a kid in the orient. I spent a little time in Hong Kong but that was when it was still controlled by the British. Did your father immigrate to England?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Fascinating," Dale commented as he took a sip. "Were you able to visit either of your parents' countries?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well maybe if you're lucky the island will do some traveling this summer," Dale said with a grin. "What did your parents do?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"So I guess you took after dear old dad then?" Dale asked. "Or do you have a hobby about international corporate hegemonies that I don't know about?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think I can understand that," Dale grinned. "My dad was a printer of calendars and moon maps. My mother was a homemaker and died when I was fairly young. I'm pretty much different from them in every way."

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Moon maps. It was right after the first moon landing," Dale said smiling at the memory. "My dad was obsessed with the moon. Even found a crater that astronomer's had missed and got it named after him. He made a fortune off those maps but lost it all somewhere along the line. Last I heard he was down in Florida taking people out fishing on tour boat."

Sarah needed to do a little more research, and seeing Daisy was a nice perk. She still needed to ask her about the thing she'd promised Loki Thursday.

"Hey, did you have a good weekend?" she asked, smiling.

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not quite as amazing as yours, but not bad," Sarah said. "Ran a bunch of errands, got in a good workout ... usual stuff. You sound like yours was more interesting."

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"And, strangely enough, that's why I'm here," Sarah confirmed.

Well, that and work, but work could wait.

"He wants to make me sing again. I told him I'd be up for it if you came to referee and I got to pick a song for him." Thoughtfully, she added, "I need to make that something really good..."

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Or just hang out with us both?" Sarah suggested, though she thought the arched brow was a little unfair given Daisy's attitude the last time they talked. "What's your schedule like this week?"

[OOC: I can't decide if suggesting honesty day would be the best thing ever, or the worst thing ever.]

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Doing anything fun?" Sarah asked. "I'm still open, as far as I know."

[OOC: email insent!]

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure. I don't even have to work that day," Sarah decided cheerfully. "And that gives me plenty of time to think of songs for him." A pause. "Do you think he could hit the notes in 'Toxic'?"

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, like Sarah was ever really not working; she meant she didn't have to open the shop. She made the same slight face back at Daisy.

"If I can't think of something better, you might get your wish," she promised.

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
"And he owes us at least two songs," Sarah noted. "I mean, as a gentleman."

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sarah giggled. "I know. I might just faint when he actually gets onstage."

[AFK for new canon whee!]

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"And then all the little girls in the place will swoon," Sarah supplied.

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I never make people laugh like that," Sarah said with a triumphant smile. "I should run a few things through the computers, but I'll see you tomorrow?"

[identity profile] saveyoulater.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
"We might be a few drinks in by then," Sarah said wryly as she headed to the bank of computers.
