It had taken a veritable explosion of Versace, Chanel, and Dior, the ruins of which were currently strewn about the bedroom in Charlotte's apartment, but she'd done it. She finally did it, after scouring through the impressive vastness of her three closets (one with the little corner of it for Dale's suits). She found something to match with the hat, a trim little suit number, that made it...

...tolerable. It was tolerable, at best, because it was hard to match up something that made a hat like that look good, and she thought that tolerable wasn't quite enough, but she had worked so hard that it seemed a shame not to show off her resourcefulness.

Shoes like that took all the focus right off the hat.

"Cosmopolitan, please," she said, with a toss of her hair to suggest that, what hat? You saw no hat. Even if you did, well, Charlotte had seen worse things on Carrie's head, anyway.

"I love your shoes," Robin told her, waving at Tino to get the drink. "Louboutin or Fendi?"

She could ignore the hats, too.

"Fendi!" Charlotte preened, pointing out her toe and shifting it a little to give Robin a better showing. "Good eye. Aren't they amazing?"

Robin leaned over the bar to get a good look, all the while pointedly ignoring the hats. "They're gorgeous. I haven't bought any designer pieces since this summer."

"Oh my God," Charlotte said, "I'd die! Of course, I'm sure my pocketbook wouldn't mind, but, well, it's me or it, a sacrifice worth making!"

"I had fun when we were in France over the summer -- Benton didn't even know what Dior was -- but otherwise, I haven't had time the couple times I've been in New York," she admitted. "And I hate buying online because I'm a funky size."

Mina felt the need for a drink, after spending the day with a hat she did not want.
