Cafe Fina, Sunday

Warren had been suspicious that Fina had been broken into the moment he had set foot inside the Café. It was the gaggle of strange humans running around, where there had been dishes before. It just didn't seem... natural.

"Which really is an indication as to how long you've been on Fandom," the guy that Warren had to assume used to be a cheese grater pointed out.

He had no idea what he was talking about, but it sounded good at the time.

Yet again, weirdness had struck the island, and Warren was at work.

He was starting to blame Sundays.

Blossom was hungry and a glance through a building allowed her to find a clock and see that it was indeed time for her to eat. Growing girls needed their food, after all! She flew closer to the street and spotted what looked to be an eatery of some sort. She hovered in front a moment, reading the sign.

"Hmm. Ca - fe Fi - na? A cafe? Well, this looks like a nice, respectable establishment. I'm sure I can get a delicious and healthy meal here." She nodded to herself, then reached for the door and floated inside. "Hello, I was hoping to have some lunch, but what is an inside-out sandwich?"

It was a... a kid. A kind of... familiar kid. A familiar-ish kid with very large eyes.

It was cute, whatever it was.

"It's... Pretty much what it sounds like," Warren grunted, squinting a little. He was having a heck of a time placing the face, here. "It's a sandwich, but all the fillings are on the top."

"That sounds very interesting. Although, technically, I believe that mean it's no longer a sandwich, as the contents are not in between the two slices of bread." Blossom smiled cheerfully at the teenager, despite the grunted explanation. From the squinting, it was obvious his eyes hurt. Maybe if she floated away from in front of the door and towards a table? "Does it taste better that way?"

"It... kind of all goes the same place," Warren replied. "Same ingredients. But it's easer to eat with a fork."

The girl that used to be a fork waved a chipper hello before bustling along on her way.

"... Do I know you?"

"I think I'll just have a normal sandwich, instead. If that's okay." Blossom waved a cheery hello back at the girl. It was nice to have fans, even if she couldn't always recognize them all.

"Well, you've probably seen me! I'm pretty famous." She tilted her head and gave her ponytail a small toss. "I'm Blossom, leader of the Powerpuff Girls! My sisters and I fight all sorts of monsters and evil-doers to keep the city safe. Sometimes we're even on the TV news, even though the Professor doesn't always let us stay up late enough to watch it."

"I'm afraid I haven't seen you on the TV before, no," came another sort of grunted reply. "Honestly, I've never really..." He could swear he knew that boy. "... Never really heard of the Powerpuff Girls before, either."

Weird.

"One normal sandwich," Warren stated, writing her order down. "Anything to drink with that?"

Blossom stared at him for a moment, her eyes wide. Someone who didn't know the Powerpuff Girls? "That's strange. I guess I thought everyone knew about us."

She shrugged and tapped her chin as she considered her drink choices. "I'll have a milk, please. After all, I need all the calcium and nutrients I can get to keep me healthy. Plus it tastes really good with sandwiches." She smiled. "Well, when you eat a proper sandwich. I'm not sure if it's the same with an inside-out one."

Warren was developing a bit of a headache, here.

"They taste exactly the same," he replied, forcibly keeping his patience. He was talking to a little kid, here. "It's a turkey sandwich. It's exactly like a turkey sandwich. It's just missing one slice of bread."

There was a pause.

"I know a girl who wears the same bow as you," he offered, about as helpfully as he could. "She's got the same hair, too. Older, though."

Blossom frowned at the boy. He reminded her an awful lot of Buttercup in one of her moods.

She raised a finger and tried to explain as simply as she could: "Technically, a sandwich is at least one piece of meat sandwiched between two slices of bread, or a piece of meat completely wrapped in bread. And, while it's commonly believed to have been invented by the Earl of Sandwich in the 18th Century, the real story is that people had been doing it for years before him but it was named. He didn't like to get his hands dirty while playing cards, you see." There! "To be fair, I guess you could call it an open-faced sandwich, though," she added after a moment's thought.

"And someone else has my hairbow?" She touched it, to make sure it was still there.

...

Warren was putting down his notepad and counting to ten. He'd be a moment.

....

Okay.

"You have your hairbow. Someone else has a bow that looks like yours. And I know what a sandwich is." He picked up the paper again. "Will that be just the sandwich and the milk for you today, kid?"

"My name is not 'kid,' it's Blossom. And I am sorry if my hairbow has made you upset, but I like it- it's pretty and it's useful."

"... Useful."

This required repetition. Because... Seriously?

Blossom fidgeted. "Well, it keeps my hair out of my eyes while I'm trying to fight evil!" And sometimes functions as a timebomb, among other things.

I'll he headed out for an aunt's birthday party soon, apparently, that I had not been made aware of prior to waking up about... fifteen minutes ago. I should be back as soon as humanly possible to snag pings.
