Spending the weekend as a human hadn't been entirely bad. He hadn't looked different or anything too jarring. Loki supposed that turning into someone with a broken mind and the inability to curse (and Loki had solved that problem by rattling off a string of curses as soon as he changed back) wasn't the worst thing that could happen to him.

The fact that he'd been a fucking human for two days was what he was stuck on. God could probably do that if He wanted to but to live in a place where he could go from angel to human and back again without anything worse than the memories of throwing everyone's leases in the pool (FUCK!) as a consequence was fucking amazing.

This morning, Loki was sitting on top of the counter with various dried out pits and pieces of contracts and leases piled on either side of him. Some of them had been salvageable but most of them hard torn or were so wet, they were fucking lost causes.

"Fucking paperwork," he grumbled irritably. It was good to be irritated again instead of so fucking calm. Eventually, he got tired of the paperwork and just laid back, legs dangling off the counter so he could stare up at the ceiling.

Much better than fucking paperwork.

He walked up to Loki. "Say there, you look like someone in charge."

Loki didn't recognize the voice so he didn't move. "Depends on what you think I'm in charge of."

"Handsome young man like you... you look the landlord type, am I right?" Jack said.

"I didn't know landlords had a type," he said, pushing himself up so he could see who was talking to him. Still unfamiliar. "Thanks for the compliment, though. I hear them all the time but I never fucking get tired of them."

"I threw it all in the fucking pool this weekend," he said, glaring down at said paperwork. "So, it's not so much trouble as I wish it would dry the fuck out so I could put it away."

"It was cathartic," he replied,. shrugging. "You looking for an apartment? Or was my apartment building just so enticing, you were lured in my its aura?"

Loki peered down at the photo and resisted the urge to start laughing. It was hard and it took a lot of willpower but he managed.

"I do, do I?" he asked, trying to look thoughtful. "What makes you think I don't have a car?"

"I should've known," he said. "What is it, Porsche, Lamborghini?"

On her way in to the station and knowing she'd have plenty of work keeping her busy with her investigation on Eliza's not-murder, Daisy knew she could spare a moment or two.

Assuming it just kept to a moment or two, but she was willing to tempt fate.

"You know," she said, eyes on the bits of paper as she leaned her hip against the counter, "I'd offer to photocopy my copy of my lease for you, but, as luck would have it, mine's probably of the few that survived the swim the other day."

"Why the fuck did I throw everything in the pool?" he said, turning his head so he could see her. "I couldn't throw it in the trash or something easy like that? Fucking idiot."

"I still fail to see," admitted Daisy, trying her hardest not to grin, but even her hardest wasn't good enough, "why they had to be thrown anywhere in the first place."

"I don't fucking know," he said and shook his head before glaring weakly at that grin. "I think he thought he was destroying something useless but he didn't want anyone else to have them in case there was something important in them. At least he didn't shred them, I guess."

"Computer?" he asked, trying to appear about as dumb as a box of hair.

That lasted all of about five seconds before he laughed.

"I might, I haven't checked. I've been trying to dry the fucking things out before going for backups. Doing the things the hard way. That's always more fun."
