Book Haven, Tuesday
Hinata had come in with the intent to quietly study her script, in-between customers, until it was time to go to rehearsal but found herself, upon arrival, having to tidy up the store and then spend a goodly while having to put books back on their proper shelves rather than the one the customers had felt was ‘good enough’.
It was, all in all, not a bad thing however. Some few of the books were interesting enough that she read the first chapter while standing, just to see what they were about.
Book Haven is Open.

Or knock them over. It was a bit of both.

[Sorry for the slow! Work is eviiiil today!]
Re: Talk to Hinata
"From the chorus," Dinah said with determination. "Now all the youth of England are on fire, And silken dalliance in the wardrobe lies...."
Which always sounded to her like a rock concert.
Re: Talk to Hinata
She waited until Dinah was about halfway through the chorus, raising her hand a line before to signal that she'd take over then--it wasn't fair, after all, that Dinah do all the work, and took up the recitation: "Confirm'd c-conspiracy with fearful France; And by their hands this grace of kings must die, If hell and t-treason hold their promises...
Re: Talk to Hinata
"I doubt not that, since we are well-persuaded
We carry not a heart with us from hence
That grows not in a fair consent with ours,
Nor leave not one behind that doth not wish
Success and conquest to attend on us!" Dinah grinned and got up on her chair to call the words out more loudly.
Re: Talk to Hinata
Which, alright, was fun. She didn't get up on a chair though, feeling that as Dinah was the King, it was her right to be higher. She did, however, bow slightly.
"Never was monarch better fear'd and loved
Than is y-your majesty: there's not, I think, a subject
That sits in heart-grief and uneasiness
Under the sweet shade of your g-government.
"
Re: Talk to Hinata
"We therefore have great cause of thankfulness
And shall forget the office of our hand
Sooner than quittance of desert and merit
According to the weight and worthiness....
And how I'm going to do that part without sounding totally sarcastic, I don't know." She grimaced at the page. "Since the king is setting you up, right there."
Re: Talk to Hinata
A pause.
"Unless I c-completely misread the script..." Now Hinata was going to frown at her script a bit.
Re: Talk to Hinata
Re: Talk to Hinata
Hinata took a deep breath, a glance at her script, and went: "I arrest thee o-of high treason, by the name of
Richard Earl of Cambridge.
I arrest t-thee of high treason, by the name of
Henry Lord Scroop of Masham.
I arrest thee of high treason, by t-the name of
Thomas Grey, knight, of Northumberland."
Re: Talk to Hinata
"...Poor miserable wretches, to your death,
The taste whereof God of His mercy give
You patience to endure, and true repentance
Of all your dear offences.—Bear them hence."
"And Amber and the others get dragged away to their doom." Dinah sighed at Hinata. "Okay. Okay. There's still months, right?"

After all, she did not need the money.
"Did you want some tea, and cookies? W-We keep some in the store for visitors."

Re: Talk to Hinata
"I've m-met Triela once, she seemed nice enough. Is t-there anything w-wrong at home?" She pushed one cup towards Dinah, along with a plate. "Did you n-need any sugar? We've got it, and little creamers too."
Re: Talk to Hinata
Re: Talk to Hinata
"They d-don't know?" Her lips twisted. "That w-will be some conversation, I guess."
Re: Talk to Hinata
"And no. They don't. Alfred does, and he's on my side, but my sisters... no." She sighed. "Should be very, very interesting." Dinah took a sip of the tea, and nibbled on a cookie, trying to still her nerves.
Re: Talk to Hinata
"Do y-you think they'll have problems with it?" she worried. "It i-isn't like m-most of it is harmful."
Re: Talk to Hinata
Hinata's question made her actually think, and weigh the pros and cons. "They'll like that I can study with Miss Atreides. The magic, that might be a big problem." She bit her lip, sighing. "We don't have much of that back home. Like, at all. The invasions... I don't know. Those might be the sticking point." She took another cookie. "Part of it is going to depend on stuff I can't know 'til I get home. There was this whole legal mess and tangle that had nothing to do with me? But meant it was safer and easier for me to be at a boarding school. If that's still up in the air, they might let me stay because there's no better options."
Re: Talk to Hinata
"As for m-magic...," Hinata snapped one of her cookies in half, "why d-don't you not say it's magic? D-Don't lie, but say it's... like your abilities. Would that be less of a p-problem?" She didn't know enough to tell herself, and the invasions, well, Hinata couldn't say anything about that. They could be a sticking point. "And even if t-there's 'no better options', at least you w-would have longer here?"

Hinata had no idea how fast Dinah read, and well, it did sound like a lot of time would be spent with nothing to do but read.

"They're i-in order," she said, hefting them. "And m-marked on the covers besides."
