MHA Poolside, Saturday Evening

With the weather finally fucking warm enough to be outside without fear of freezing, Loki was doing exactly that. Even with it being dark, it was still warm enough to drag his lazy ass poolside. Of course, he'd lit a few of those deck lamps to provide some light and had put smaller candles on each of the tables around the pool to create even more. It wasn't ~~Christmas~~ lights but it looked pretty fucking good.

He wasn't planning on doing much besides sitting out there and relaxing but he figured this was a step up from sprawling like a lump of nothing on his couch even if his couch was comfortable. Maybe he should have just dragged his couch out here.

Next time.

This time, he was content with his lounge chair, his many bottles of water, and his pool. Maybe he'd even get in. Or maybe not. He liked leaving things up to fate.

"Arson is so fucking messy," he said and made a face. "I'd destroy this place in other ways, if I wanted to destroy it."

"And what ways would those be?" Ben asked. "I'm curious now."

"Like I'm gonna tell you," Loki replied. "Then, it wouldn't be a surprise!"

"I'm on the fourth floor. I don't think I really want any surprises," Ben said.

"I'm not planning on fucking destroying the building," he promised. "Believe me. I really don't want to."

"Suuuuuuuure you're not," Ben said. "I believe you. No, really. Don't mind me when I make sure my renter's insurance is all paid up."

"That's smart to do anyway," Loki pointed out. "Any bonehead could tell you that. One of your neighbors blew up her fucking oven once."

"... Which one?" Ben asked.

"Daisy," he said. "She did it on purpose to prove that I can't fucking fix some things but holy shit, it was a warzone."

"Really?" Ben asked with a laugh. "I can't say that I would have expected that from her."

"She's damn devious when she wants to be," Loki informed him oh so solemnly. Really. "I have never seen an oven look like that even after I've tried to cook something. It was fucking impressive."

"Do you know what she used to blow it up?" Ben asked.

"Not a damn clue but she charred all the fucking wiring," Loki said. "It looked like she stuck a grenade in there or something."

"I'm pretty sure that's not standard police issue," Ben said. "Well, it might be here. But it probably shouldn't be."

"Well, she's British," Loki said like maybe that explained it.

"Good point," Ben said. "Who knows how they do things over there?"

Well, Ben did. But still.

"It's such a closed off country," he agreed. "Buncha weird tea drinkers."

"I've got nothing against tea," Ben said. "But I wouldn't set aside a specific time of day for drinking it, you know?"

"Well, British." Apparently Britain was standing in for Canada tonight. "I bet they invented fucking brunch too."

"Actually, I'm pretty sure they did," Ben said. "At the very least, they named it. ... Don't question me, I'm a nerd, okay?"

"Nerd," Loki said, shaking his head. "That's such a fucking weird thing to know."

"I'm just saying, never challenge me to Trivial Pursuit," Ben said. "I could very well make you cry. Especially in the science and nature category."

"Trivial Pursuit is a nerd game," he declared. "Fucking Candyland, there's a badass game."

"Candyland is badass?" Ben asked. "I don't think anyone has ever said that before."

"Candyland is badass," he insisted. "You ever play with a hormonal woman? Candyland becomes fucking cutthroat."
