Caritas - Tuesday Evening [Open]

Marshall didn't have any leftover food today (it had all melted) but he did bring a Mooby meal with him to eat during his shift. And, no, he wasn't sharing with Tino. Those meals were not big enough for sharing.

Minsc and Boo had decided that Tuesdays were usually very good days for drinking, especially since the glee and a good deal of the puffiness and scarring and soreness from battling was quickly going down.

"Fetch me a mug of moderately strong ale," he declared, as was his idiom, "and some water for my hamster!"

"Is Boo thirsty this evening?" Mina asked her friend, a smile on her face.

"Oh, he is always thirsty," Minsc informed her with a slight smile back. "It is not easy being a giant miniature space hamster."

Even if he seemed to be more splashing in the bowl of water than actually drinking it.

"And how are you tonight, Lady Wilhelmina?"

"I am quite well," she said. "Feeling much more myself."

"That is very good to hear," Minsc said with a chuckle, not even trying to not think about any running at trees, "although I must admit to still being a little disappointed about a lack questing."

"Finding the academic life a bit droll?" Mina teased.

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Not per say," said Minsc. "But a man misses his quests when they have been the whole of his life until just recently."

Re: Bar

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"I understand," Mina said. "It is hard to change one's lifestyle and expectations."

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
"It is good, though," Minsc said, stoutly, with determination. "I enjoy the teaching. And this summer, I hope to teach some more adventuresome things!"

Re: Bar

"Teach them how to properly disembowel a gnoll, I imagine," Mina joked.

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Only," said Minsc with a cunning (and serious) grin, "if I can find a gnoll. And if I can find one and let it survive long enough to be used an an example."

It was a rule that a gnoll would never last too long if Minsc was in the vicinity, really.

"How very practical demonstration of you," Mina said, assuming he was joking. She chuckled lightly.

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Practical demonstrations," Minsc stated, "are the best way to learn! At least, they always have been for me! It is too easy to forget something made of words and diagrams. It is not so difficult to remember the feel of steel as it cleaves into a skull, the crunch of bones beneath your boots, and or squish of blood between your fingernails as you tear into a gut!"

Re: Bar

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Mina paused. "And you honestly wish to teach children these sensations?"

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
"They are teenagers, Lady Wilhelmina," said Minsc. "If they don't learn to be proper men and women now, then it'll be far too late. I'd have killed mountains of kobolds by the time I was their age."

Re: Bar

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Teenagers, perhaps," Mina said. "But it is a rather traumatic experience. The killing of any creature."

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
There was a pause. A great, deep, uncertain pause.

"...it is?"

Re: Bar

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah," Mina said. "I suppose this is what they call a cultural difference, my friend."

Re: Bar

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps," Minsc said, "but I hardly see what can be so traumatic about vanquishing evil so completely. Although, to be fair, not even killing things vanquishes them entirely. In fact, many things I've fought, I've had to fight a second time, because evil has a way of usurping all those nice little undead loopholes!"

Tully sat down at the bar, and eyed the Mooby meal as if he'd never seen one before. "What the hell is that?"
