Geoffrey was drunk.

Yes, it was a bit early for it, but he'd been saving up for the bottles and it was the perfect day for it, after all. Almost like camoflage. Thankfully, barring a need for sword duels and/or marriage proposals, Geoffrey was a quiet drunk.

...rehearsal should be interesting today.

Robin knew his few lines. What had him pacing was trying to figure out, and remember, what to do while onstage, so he didn't just stand there like a statue until his cue came.

Sooo, Dinah pretty much thought Harry was completely full of crap during this scene. He'd never even met the princess before this, and he was wooing her. Political necessity, happy ending, yadda yadda just do it. At least the guy playing Katherine was cute?

There might be an element of desperation in this particular scene that the others were missing.

Fair Katherine, and most fair,
Will you vouchsafe to teach a soldier terms
Such as will enter at a lady's ear
And plead his love suit to her gentle heart?

And after 'Kate' spoke his lines:

O fair Katherine, if you will love me soundly with your French heart,
I will be glad to hear you confess it brokenly with your English tongue.
Do you like me, Kate?

Sure Kate did. Harry just conquered her country, what's not to love?

Maybe she could get Amber to kill her with a 2x4....

Dinah broke character, looking away from Kate toward Leto with a sense of how hopeless this was going. "Yeah?" Help, help! "Like... what?"

"You know," he noted, "you probably at least like how she looks. Or you see a more peaceful future in her. There's any number of reasons not to sound like you're being shackled to a lead weight to be tossed into a lake."

Dinah turned red, and then turned toward Geoffrey. "Okay, yes, hi, you're cute, Katharine," she told her fellow actor, who grinned back at her. "And Tony pointed out that maybe Harry thinks no one could want to refuse him anyway." She held out her hands, and then grimaced. "I'll get better at it. I will!"

She just thought Harry was kind of an idiot. Why marry the princess when you'd conquered the country? "Does he just think he's being nice or something? And how does anyone watching this think it'll work?"

I had an idea. Inspired by the ongoing silliness with Amber and Cal; insult/sword-fights, like some silly thing you'd see at a Renaissance Faire.

I would expect Geoffrey would be horrified by it, but it would at least drum up some interest in the play?

Scenes from the play would be good too, so either way.

The drunkeness is no comment on the holiday or the culture it comes from. It is a comment on the numerous idiots I've seen wobbly along the streets for the last two weeks. *facepalm *facepalm*

Also, he'll be a little more open about himself, so I figured it'd be interesting.
