A banner, the letters wrapped with fresh spring flowers, hung from the trees, spelling out CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2009! No missing letters or anything.

Spread out across the park were plenty of tables and chairs, some under the shade of picnic shelters, some out on the grass in the sunshine. For those who felt like getting back to nature, there were even red and white checked blankets spread out in a few areas for old-fashioned picnic-y goodness. Lack of ants not guaranteed.

The long table that ran along next to the picnic shelters was laden with a vast ~~moddable~~ array of traditional brillig-y food, including fruit, veggie snacks, breakfast pastries, sandwiches for the especially hungry or those who arrived more toward the unch end of brunch, and a wide variety of J,GoB-catered desserts. Drinks included coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks, and while there were plates provided, there were also wee picnic-basket-shaped trays for carrying things back to your seat, wherever that might be.

A space had been cleared for dancing, if people cared to do more than just listen to the light music being played through the speakers, and there was also an area set aside for outdoor games of croquet, horseshoes, or frisbee.

Everybody's welcome. Come celebrate with the Class of '09!

"Someone looks like they had a lot of fun last night," Yuna sing-songed.

"We went out to dinner," Rikku blurted out, turning bright red. "It was really ... fancy? With lots of ... fancy dinner-stuff."

Yuna laughed. "You went out to a fancy dinner and had a lot of fun. Who are you, and what did you do to my cousin?"

"I've done the fancy dinner thing before," Rikku insisted. "It's kinda neat, if you don't spill anything on yourself. How was your evening?"

Much safer conversational topic.

"I've seen you do the fancy dinner thing before," Yuna reminded her pointedly. Then she blushed. "Um... there was a drinking game?"

And someone had gotten hammered?

"Someone gooooot druuuuuuunk," Rikku giggled, returning her cousin's sing-song. "I am such a lightweight. Reno teases me about it."

"I," Yuna said in an attempt to hold onto her dignity, "can hold my alcohol quite well, thank you."

Lies like that worked much, much better when your lightweight cousin didn't know you were at least as lightweight as she was.

"Suuuuuuuuure you can," Rikku giggled. "You can drink Wakka right under the table. Makes sense, since you're little and you never drink at all."

"I was very proper," Yuna insisted. "Just ask Lulu."

Lulu would totally have her back.

"I bet you were adorable," Rikku laughed. "I have to get you drunk some time. There are bars in Luca, right?"

"Of course," Yuna said as if she had totally been to all of them. She was vry experienced, after all.

Just... don't ask her to name any of them.

"Good," Rikku said brightly. "When we get back, I'm gonna need one."

She was going to Spira, and Reno to Gaia. They would meet up again ... soon.

This would require alcohol.

Yuna saw that look in Rikku's eyes. "Girl's night. I promise."

"Thanks," Rikku said softly, leaning over for a quick squeeze.

Yuna squeezed back. "Hey, you'd get one anyway. We still have a lot to catch up on."
