Luke's Diner - Wednesday

Coming in to work today, Johnny already had the menu planned out and took himself to the kitchen where he began making burgers. He was feeling oddly productive and was in a great mood. The cook started working on a big pot of chili.

Hinata slipped in, drifting up to the counter, and taking a seat on one of the stools while pulling out a book.

She was patient, after all, and could wait for him to notice her.

She didn't have to wait long and Johnny was smiling wide when he made his way over. "Hey, sweet girl," he greeted warmly. "How've you been?"

She closed her book and smiled at him. "Quiet," Hinata said, "though I've not been bad at all, now t-that I made a decision. And you? You look as if you've b-been having a good time."

"When are you not quiet?" he asked, teasing lightly. "I'm in a great mood -- got burgers cooking, pot of chili going -- can't be better. But what's this decision you made?"

"To not attempt the play this time around," she said, tracing a circle on the counter. "There's s-so many new people trying out that I thought it would be best to step back and have them go for it."

"That's very unselfish of you," he said. "But if you want to try out, you should."

"I don't think I w-want to," she said, nodding. "I would rather take a break, and perhaps try out in the fall again."

"Sounds good too; like you know what you want," he commented easily. "What kinds of classes are you taking? I think really hard, I just might miss going to school."

"Civil War," she said, smiling. "And Criminal Justice. It's a rather d-dark semester for me, but the classes are interesting."

"Civil War sounds pretty interesting," he said. "And if you like them, totally doesn't matter how dark they are."
