Movie Sign Theatre 3000 - Saturday afternoon - 5/24
Fiona waited patiently outside of the theatre, nails tapping against the wall as she waited for Griff. She'd been worried she wouldn't pick a good movie for them to see, but the theatre was only playing one at the moment, so it had made the issue of choice somewhat moot.
Now Showing
Galaxy Quest Hopefully he liked it.

She walked right past the snack bar, a little hurried before ducking back to glance at him.
"Did you want anything? Sorry."

"That would make a mess," she pointed out before heading for the usher. She handed over her ticket as the man at the window had told her to before stepping through and waiting for him on the other side of the podium.
"How've you been, by the way? I haven't seen you for a few days."
no subject
"I've been around. Not so much as you, judging by what I hear, but I'm good. How'd you end up on radio last night?"
no subject
"You listened?"

"They said something not all that nice," she admitted, "or at least, that was what was on the paper. I didn't believe it, though."
Fiona looked at the rows of seats as well before turning to Griff.
"You'd know better than I would where we should sit for this kind of thing."
no subject
"And now I wanna know what this paper said about me." And which squirrel was watching.
no subject
"Just that you and Alex were being 'bitchy' at each other. Hmph. He's been all right in class, but he certainly wasn't very nice to me whenever I tried to talk to him."
She tapped a row that she estimated to be in the 'middle'.
"This one?"

no subject
"Well, then. I suppose I'll have to visit. Improve the atmosphere."
She settled beside him and wobbled a little as she wasn't quite prepared for the seat to shift so much for her.
"...is it supposed to do that?"

"Sorry. These are kind of strange, but I guess it makes sense. It's so we can see the screen, right?"

"That said, despite the fact that I was woken by squirrels, I'm not going to nap. I'd rather not miss anything."
She reached out, looking for his hand. It was getting to be a habit, and part of her wondered if it was just a different sort of addiction but she reminded herself that there was another word when it came to people that she could use.
Affection.
"I needed this after yesterday."

"Yeah. That part. I don't think I've been that nervous... well, for a while."
A couple of months, anyway.
"But she was pretty good about things. I explained about my dad's family and she didn't seem to think it would be a problem. Dinah came with me to make sure I would be all right."
no subject
"You know, as much as I've heard the name on radio, I don't think I know Dinah." Even if he was pretty sure she was in Criminal Justice.

Which brought to mind the fact that she hadn't told Griff everything.
"I mean--" she swore mildly in French before pausing a minute to try and figure out how to put it without making things worse.
"You're one of my best friends too," she finally said.

"I just realized there was some stuff I hadn't told you yet. And I didn't want you to think it was because you aren't one of my best friends here."
She tucked a curl back to give a wry grin.
"And it wasn't that creative. Just a little archaic."
Her French textbooks were rather ancient, after all, and contained all those useful and interesting vocabulary words.

"I just don't want to lie," she admitted quietly. She turned her head to look him full in the face and she was utterly serious.
"I don't ever want to lie to you."
The previews started.

This was something he had to believe, lying as he'd been for so many years. "Don't worry about lying to me."
no subject
A moment had her wondering if he'd lied to her, but something said that she would have known. He hadn't. Their moment on the beach and their moment in the woods remained pure in her mind.
"I won't," she said, her own voice low as his had been, "I'd rather you were angry with me than lie to you."
She almost left it there before squeezing his hand.
"I trust you."
