The Park, Friday Afternoon
Arthur had been a little too busy clearing up his own bizarre situation with Merlin still to be finished being played out that morning to realise about the alligators. Then, of course, Sir Minsc's class had occurred, and he had spirited outside with his sword.
And, as per usual, his overly protective manservant (even if, after two days, he was somewhat relieved to at least have him tagging along). He wasn't out here to fight on his own, mind-- he was looking for somewhere central.
Maybe Francine had had a point. Maybe he should just get the numbers of every reserve member at the next meeting. As it was, he drew his sword to take care of an alligator or two - yesterday in Captain Algren's class had been a good practice round - while he searched for anyone he knew.
His kingdom for a runner.
... A goldfish seared over his head.

So he was practicing that damned shielding spell on him now. It was taking quite a bit more concentration than the last time. And his eyes hadn't managed to go back to normal when he was in the middle of using it.
...at least he didn't have to hide them anymore?

"How long can you keep this up?!"

"Arthur!" If Zack looked just a teeny bit drenched in gator guts, and like he was loving every minute of it, that wouldn't be a problem, would it? "And Merlin! Guys! How's it going?"
Aside from the obvious?
no subject
This was punctuated, of course, by thoroughly goring an alligator under the flicker of Merlin's shield.

Which was why, with her stash of explosive notes and kunai and cards and gun, Ino had been making her away around town via rooftops and trees. That being said, she was a fair bit cleaner than most people fighting them.
She was splattered of course, but hey, alligators exploded quite satisfactorily. Which, speaking of exploding, she wrapped a note around another kunai and flung it with precision at the next one. "Incoming!" she carolled, because there were other people around and they'd probably like warning.
Boom!
Another alligator down, and Ino was swinging over to another tree.
no subject
Arthur was going to have to ask her about those explosives when all was said and done with. "Ino!" he called. He could have gone keep moving, but she seemed to have that under control, so he simply jerked his head slightly in one direction as there was a different kind of incoming.
You know. Goldfish.

She was annoyed. She was annoyed with whoever thought this was funny, with the fact that the first set of alligators had gotten some blood on her new dress, and that she still couldn't figure out how to get her text messages on the Blackberry open.
...hey, sometimes it's the little things.
She did well enough, but she was leaving something of a mess.

In fact he was now just in the park with a gory looking bat'leth hunting for more invading creatures.
Quite frankly this possibly the happiest he's been since coming to Fandom.

Mutant alligators spitting goldfish? It was almost like home!
. . . so at some point, yeah, there'd be a helmeted figure in pink spandex (it wasn't spandex, not really, but technicalities) doing a series of handsprings into the park, right near the gathered fighters, and pulling a pair of mostly-translucent swords out of apparently nowhere to start taking swipes at the gators.
no subject
Zack took a moment to just stand there, blinking, before coming back to his senses (a nippy goldfish at the seat of his pants assisted with that) and calling out to her.
"You're here to fight, huh? We're looking for reinforcements in the park!"

AGAIN demon lizards.
But this time, he could do something about them - namely, cut them to pieces. Very, very fast. And while Hiten Mitsurugi was designed for killing people, it seemed to work almost as well on demon lizards. And goldfish.
What.
"This place is insane," he muttered, pausing for a moment (and only that) to flick the blood off his sword, and pick another target.
no subject
It was a greeting. She didn't stop killing alligators while she did it, but she was glad to see him.
"Maybe tutoring tomorrow?!"

:This whole place: Gwena said privately to Elspeth, as she kicked one lizard in the head and dodged a batch of flying fish, :is like something an apprentice Bard would come up with during a feverish dream.:
:There are tales of lizard people living in the Pelagirs,: Elspeth pointed out.
Gwena shook off another attack and gave Elspeth a Look. :Do any of these tales say they spit fish?:
Elspeth wisely decided not to answer this. :I think it's best we concentrate on the job at hand,: she said instead.

"This," Tahiri yelled, blocking several flying goldfish that sizzled vividly when they hit the blade of her lightsaber, "is definitely weird."
But she was grinning, so it wasn't a bad kind of weird, evidently.

Which involved a lot of charging, kicking what little shins they had, dashing back and then taking a few shots. And a flaily little sound here or there because she was so not a fighter and this was dangerous, ohmygod, good thing there was a lot of people around because maybe someone would save her if she got herself into too much trouble.
...someone kind of cute would be nice, too, but she wouldn't be picky.

And killing the demon lizard coming up behind her.
