Caritas - Saturday Evening [Open]

Marion had no urge whatsoever to go to the sleepover so she was happy to show up to work tonight. Today she was spending her shift re-filling the pretzel bowls. Now if she could only keep herself from eating them.

Griff was just gonna stare at T1-N0 as he took a seat in the back room. "Another good reason for them to serve drinks to all," he mumbled.

Dinah was blinking at the robot too. "Coooool. I hadn't seen this guy before. Mojitos!" She said, slapping down a twenty. "And keep 'em coming!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Mojitos," Griff laughed, watching the droid scurry off to retrieve their drinks. "I take it we're being transported to the beaches of Mexico for the evening." He really would like to do that right about now.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Why not?" Dinah asked, smiling as she settled into one of the comfy chairs. "Although mostly it's 'cause it's the first alcohol I ever drank, and that time was a lot of fun. Maybe we'll get to go on another cruise again this summer, though. You ever been there?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Mexico? Yeah, lived for years at this really great resort. I had my own little boat that I took out on the water. It was nice." He missed it even after 3 years or so. Stupid cavity. "You went on a cruise there?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Cool. And it was really the Caribbean not Mexico, back in February. I heard from the seniors that it was Mexico last year though. Why did you leave?" Dinah put retrieved her drink from the bartender-robot, and toasted Griff. "To, umm, dealing. Right?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, dealing," he agreed, raising his glass and taking a nice drink. Gah! When he spoke, his voice started out a little hoarse. "And I left 'cause where I go, complications follow. That makes me sound a little odd, right?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
"MMmm, normal for here, maybe odd for other places," Dinah said, taking three gulps of her drink, and leaning her head on her hand as she watched Griff. "So, the complications can't follow you here?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
If she could gulp it down that fast, he wasn't letting her leave him behind and followed suit. "Haven't so far. Something about the interdimensional bit of Fandom keeps them from noticing me."

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Them," Dinah repeated, taking another big sip of her drink. "Interdimensional stalkers? Do you have stalkers?" Her eyes got rounder as she blinked at Griff.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Griff laughed, "Sort of, actually. These people have been after me as long as," he could jump, "I can remember. It's kind of a downer topic when our goal is drinking, though."

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
"That sucks," Dinah decided, then finished her drink in two more gulps. It helped to pretend she was Lois. Woo! "But yeah. If you're depressed, you have to drink and dance and throw a party. Not that we are!" she added quickly. "But no reason to go there tonight, right?"

She picked up her second drink, and pointed to him. "Your toast!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
They'd be in trouble if he pretended she was Lois. "No reason to spoil our mini party," Griff told her before chugging off the rest of his drink and making a face because wow, that was a burn.

He picked up a fresh drink and screwed up his face. "Um, to Fandom, where everyone is odd so no one is!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Awesome!" Dinah cheered, and took a big sip of her drink. "So, other things we are not talking about aside, are you liking Fandom? Even with the alligators and crazy people?" Another sip, and Dinah looked down at herself, then sighed.

No, there was no way for her to pretend some things about her were the same as Lois. Nope.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh he was going to beat her drinking this one, it was the goal of his quick slurps. "Fandom's great. There's no Starbucks, but the Perk's good enough so far," Griff teased, even if he really did miss his Starbucks. "You been here long?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah!" Dinah said in mock outrage, taking a second to pout at him instead of drink. "The Perk is awesome! And so is Jeff, God of Biscuits. And it's been five months now, wow." She drank to that, then stopped to grin again. "I love it soooo much. Aside from the fighting, there's random silly magic, and people from all over, and the classes are fun..." She paused, then held up her drink. "And you can drink!" Gulp.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm finding the drinking is brilliant given the way they toss us all together," he replied, finding it much easier to swallow the back half of this glass. "And you're right about classes, but I'm not sold on your God of Biscuits or your coffee product. I might smuggle some in next I visit London."

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah was trying to catch up, but it took her a minute to finish hers. Whoa. Warm. Nice. "When do you think that'll be? You could order it, from the internet. And! I love meeting all the people from different places. Past, present, future. Earth, outer space, um..." She paused. "Other places!" And yay, another drink. "Plus, wolves." She raised her glass. "To wolves!" And not the Leto Atreides kind, either.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, the outer space killed me when I got here," he enthused, obviously feeling quite buzzed as he leaned over the table to get his next drink. "This is not to be mean or whatever, but did you see the guy with the bumps?" Now he was miming Worf's ridges on his own forehead and drinking again.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah giggled at the leaning and miming, and said, "Worf! I was on a three-minute date with him. Long while ago. And I ate the gaggghh he brought to the cultural fair." Gulp, gulp, happy gulp. "He has a bat'leth!" Dinah's pantomime of that might look like someone trying to ski. Or steer a go-kart, possibly.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Griff burst out laughing, having no idea what she was on about with the gagghh and the skiing. "Did you run out screaming on minute four?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah nearly snorted mojito out of her nose, stopped drinking to laugh, then said, "No! It was just over! And I told him, um, I think I said, that I wanted to see his bat'leth sometime, but he kinda intimimdated me." She paused. "Intimidated! 'Cause, you know. Grrrrr."

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Narrowly avoiding spitting mojito at the table, Griff choked, coughing hard to remove the burning liquid from his lungs.

"You want to see his bat'leth? Dinah, that sounds like a third date sort of activity, not the fourth minute!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"No! No no no!" Dinah gulped more mojito as she shook her head like a four-year-old, shoulders moving with her. "It's a, a big sword, razory thing..." Then she heard how that sounded and had to laugh again. "No! Wrong! Griff! Not dirty!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
He was still laughing, harder still when she started describing Worf's, err, weapon. "I'm sure Worf would be," he had to pause and breathe, "happy to hear you think so highly of his equipment." Another peal of laughter was quelled by an attempt to drink more.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah had to put her head down on the little side table in order to stop giggling, then said, "Okay, okay, okay. Equipment." She snort-giggled, then drank about half her glass. "His is the biggest!" she had to admit, wrong-dirty though it was. "No, wait, I'm wrong, Zack's sword might be bigger. Okay, no, it's just really heavy..." And that was another peal of giggles un-stopped by more mojito, woo!

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
It seemed like the funniest thing ever and Griff very nearly lost his chair. He clung to the table, and pulled himself back up to a seated position because that was where his drink was and he needed to finish it.

"I've got a really big baseball bat?" Griff offered in comparison with a very manly giggle.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh reeeeeeally?" Dinah said, giggling back. "Do you, do you get to use it a lot?" And wow, everything sounded dirty on her fourth mojito. "Or is that a personal question?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Terribly dirty and yet he was still drinking. "Now now, what a man does with his bat is his very own business," Griff told her, attempting a straight face and failing terribly at it.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"That's right," Dinah immediately agreed. "Nobody's business but your own. You go, with your bad bat." Giggling, she took another couple sips of her drink. "Bad bat. Hey! Your turn! Toast something! Not bread!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Not bread!" Another long moment of laughing and a bit of sloshing of his drink later, Griff actually tried to think of a toast. "To...robots that bring us drinks!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"To robots!" Dinah toasted him back, taking a nice gulp, ahhh. "To, oh, mojito godfathers! And hangover fairies!" She leaned forward and gave him a very serious look. "We need water. I'm a hangover fairy, I say so."

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Griff mimicked her serious look and lifted one eyebrow questioningly. "How can you be a fairy without wings?"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I make things better!" Dinah proclaimed, then looked around and wriggled her fingers, and zzzzzipp, the bowl of peanuts moved to their table, albeit with a wobble. "See? Magic!" Then she giggled. "Not." She pointed at T1-N0. "Water please! Please water for us!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes! We would be ever so grateful for water, mister alien-looking robot man!" Griff exclaimed before happily eating some peanuts. "Dinah! There are peanuts here!" Oh dear.

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"I told you, yes!" Dinah reached out to pat him on his head, and mostly missed, one hand ending up in the peanuts. Convenient! She took a handful for herself, and then beamed as T1-N0 returned with water. "H two oh! Woo! Yes! Thank you little robot man." She gulped down half the glass, feeling the buzz kind of spread now that she wasn't also feeling so dizzy, and then said, "Ohhkay, so what do we drink to with the water?" This drinking thing was working out really well!

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"This drink tastes very watered down," Griff informed her, sipping on his water. "I think the robot is trying to get one over on us. Let's drink coffee!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooo, coffee!" Alcohol plus coffee equals that feared apocalypse Turtle was talking about, but pffttt. "We should go find some! Yeah! Once we finish our pink drinks. And the clear drink. 'Cause we paid for them."

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Right, let's race!" Because that was a fantastic idea. "I bet I can down 'em faster and get to the coffee shop faster!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] blondecanary.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Ha!" Slam! Buuuurn owie owie then slam the water! And ruuunnnn! For the door! "To the Perk, Griff-man!"

Re: Back Room

[identity profile] youcantfollow.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so she was faster at drinking, but he would beat her once they were out the door (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/3995975.html). Assuming he could remember his Perk jumpsite. Hmm.
