After her morning run, Claire took a shower and changed into more appropriate work clothing. She made a quick stop at J,GOB for a sandwich and a soda before arriving at the shop.

There was a shipment of action figures based on the characters from the newest Y-People movie and she unpacked them, resisting the urge to open a few up and play with them.

Jon happened to wander in while Claire was stocking the action figures and grinned. "You know, they're more fun if you open the boxes."

Claire laughed. "I was very, very tempted. But I somehow don't think my boss would appreciate it."

He shrugged. "Well, maybe you should buy them. Or claim that you're showing off the newest products. They're... testers."

"You just want to play with toys," she teased.

"They're not toys, they're collectable action figures!" Jon insisted as he picked one up. "And testers are a good idea. No one wants to buy an inferior collectable."

"I thought collectables were worth more if they were still in the original packaging," Claire said.

"Again, it's why you need testers!" He was having fun teasing her and it probably showed. "I heard on the radio that you went out drinking last night."

Claire rolled her eyes at him. "Well, I didn't drink, but I was at Caritas last night."

"Why not?" Jon tended to forget that not every teen imbibed at one point or another. "Is it any good? I haven't been in there yet."

"Yeah, it's fun," Claire said. "I've been a few times. You should go."

"I should?" He reached over and picked up the newest issue of Y-Men and scanned through it. "I don't know, I've got this thing about zombies."

"They're harmless," she assured him. "But why do you have a thing about them?"

"Because they're zombies?" Had she never seen a zombie horror flick? "It's the whole 'eating brains' bit. I'm kinda fond of mine where it is."

"Oh, I didn't realize you had one," she joked.

"Oh, I do. I just don't use it that often because it breaks so easily."

"Too bad you can't do strengthening exercises or something for it."

Jon carefully put the comic back and hung his head. "Very sad. Thankfully, I can do other strengthening exercises and maybe one day your roommate won't kick my ass during Fighting Reserves."

"Dinah kicked your ass?" Claire asked.

Tully had only had a passing interest in comics as a kid. Maybe he'd have been more interested if there had been some pirate comics or something. He'd seen some of the cartoons.

But today, randomly he decided to stop into the comic shop, and have a look around.

"Morning." he said, hobbling in on his crutches. He'd never have expected a pretty girl working in a place like this. Clearly stereotypes were not all they were cracked up to be.

"Hi," Claire said, looking up from the inventory list she was checking off. "Can I help you find something?"

"I've come to see these funny books that are corrupting today's youth." Tully grinned, clearly kidding.

"Oh, okay," Claire said, not quite getting the joke. "Are you looking for a particular title?"

"Not really. Just got a sudden curiosity about today's comics."

"Y-People is a perennial favorite," Claire said. "Personally I'm fond of Ninth Wonders though."

"Y-People I've heard of. But not Ninth Wonders. What's that one about?"
