Lacey was on the phone again this morning, trying to see about getting Canadian cream soda in for the soda fountains. The whole . . . non-pink-ness . . . aspect of American cream soda hadn't stopped weirding her out yet.

She was a woman on a mission, and she would not be stopped.

Hopefully. Maybe.

She got off the phone to notice the busboy staring at the calendar, like he was trying by sheer force of will to make it be Tuesday

". . . what is wrong with you?"

Luke's is open, and miiiiiiiiiiight be a touch more pink in the near future. Maybe. Who knows?

"Heya Lacey!" Murdock greeted, sliding onto a stool. "How's it hangin'?"

Lacey put a fresh pot of coffee on to brew and turned around. "I think it's about two inches low on the right."

An eyebrow raised up slightly. "Is it better that way or is it supposed to be high?" Whatever 'it' was.

"What's new today?"

"The busboy's gone crazy, but other than that? Nothing really." Said the woman who was humming "Let's Go to the Mall" under her breath constantly.

"Ooo, what's he doing? Talking to the food or the ovens? Paranoid that the mop is out to get him? Does he think he's allergic to paprika?"

"I got some experience in that sorta thing, ya know."

If being a mental patient counted as experience.

"The mop thing was last week, the ovens was a month ago, and it wasn't paprika, it was coriander," Lacey recited. "Let's not give him any more ideas?"

"Yah, that's crazy alright," he nodded seriously. "Has he gotten any help for it? I can recommended a good Doc."

Lacey flung both hands up in the air; she was really just making this all up, even though the busboy was kind of strange. "He claims he's doing better."

"Oh good. If ever needs help, tell him he can talk to me."

"Oooo, what kinda cake you got today? And I think I'll try that crab cheese thing."

Yes, he was actually volunteering to eat something. Besides, it was better than waiting for the mention of avocadomayowhatsit.

(and avocados here are *totally* different than the things you normally get in the US, omg)

She might still have some paraphernalia from Rock Con up there. And might be going "eeeeeeeeeeeeee" every time she goes by.

*flops* Who, me? Make fun of myself in a post?
