The Perk; Monday Afternoon [ 06/22 ].

Now, originally, Charlotte was going to wait until some shopping to get something precisely to go with it, but, really, having a new hat just sitting there seemed like a terrible waste, so she threw something cute together from her closet to compliment it (it wasn't like she didn't have tons of things to choose from), and brought her work out of her office for the day and into the coffee shop, to get a little bit of fresh air and maybe fill up on hazelnut cappuccinos. She didn't even care if all the foam made her feel a little bloated; she was practically already married, it was okay to feel bloated.

Irulan decided to take a break from Imperial Brim for coffee and as she turned from the counter, coffee in hand she was delighted to see Charlotte and the hat.

"Good afternoon, Charlotte!"

"Irulan! Hi!" Charlotte wave an excited wave before her finger pointed up toward her head. "Look, the hat! I couldn't just let it sit there, I had to wear it."

Irulan beamed, "I'm very glad you decided to wear it, it looks very fetching on you!" She approached Charlotte, "May I join you?"

"Oh, yes, of course!" Charlotte said hurriedly, shifting some of her work out of the way. "I'm sorry, I should have offered! How have you been?"

"Thank you," she placed the coffee, careful not to spill it on Charlotte's papers. "Except for that one instance where my iPod almost turned me deaf." She glanced at the papers, "I hope I'm not intruding?"

"Oh, those," Charlotte waved a dismissive hand at the paperwork. "You're not intruding any more than I was when I stopped by your shop the other day. It's all the same old stuff at this point, anyway. Your iPod almost turned you deaf?"

"Early this morning, I tried out my new speakers. I'm not very acquainted with the technology of this time and somehow it ended up blaring a song! A song I never even remembered adding to my iPod!" Irulan looked quite disgruntled by that fact. "And to think I was thinking of advocating technology!"

Charlotte couldn't help at least a little bit of a grin. "Oh, I'll bet once you get used to it, you won't be able to stop using it."

"I suspect so too," she said returning the grin, "and I shall be purchasing a laptop although I'm unsure where to acquire one. Does this island have a store where I can purchase one?"

"Oh, for something like that," Charlotte said, "I think your best best would be Turtle & Canary, especially if you're new to it. And the girl who runs the place is just incredibly helpful. I don't even think she's eighteen yet, and she owns her own store, and she's so polite. There's also Stark Industries, but I have a feeling they might be more for advanced, specialized equipment."

"I think I knew a Turtle once," she told Charlotte. "I shall pay a visit to Turtle & Canary I don't think I'm quire prepared to take on advanced equipment of this planet."

"Baby steps are probably best with that sort of thing, yeah," Charlotte agreed.

"Baby steps," she echoed with a nod, then smiled. "I'm looking forward to our shopping!"

"I...have not had a good blow-out shopping trip in way too long," Charlotte decided.

"I am the same, being in the palace gives me little time to shop," she said with a sigh.

"And being here," Charlotte noted, "will probably give you too much."

"I knew there was a reason I returned to Fandom," she joked.

"I figured there had to be something," said Charlotte, with the tone of someone who figured that once she left, there was no way she'd ever come back.

Irulan cocked her head and inquired. "You're not fond of Fandom?"

Charlotte's face turned red almost instantly, as she flustered and grasped for an apologetic explanation. "Oh, it's fine!" she said. "Lovely, really, very nice. For...some people. I'll...admit that it's a little...stranger than what I'm...used to. Back home."

"Ah, I understand," she said, assuring. "When I first came here I was... overwhelmed but compared to Kaitan Fandom seemed like paradise."

"Well," said Charlotte, "there isn't quite any where like New York, and I miss it an awful lot some times."
