Hinata yawned, covering her mouth demurely, and watching with amusement as Yei played with the small ball that Hinata had picked up the day before.

It was nice, that small things made her cat so happy. And her as well, Hinata supposed, as she was the one leaning over the counter to watch her play.

Johnny walked in carrying a small flowered pot (http://www.arenaflowers.com/product_image/large/4364-white_orchid_delight.jpg), and he was smiling.

"Hey, Hinata."

"Johnny-san," she said, smiling as she looked up from laughing softly at Yei. "Good day!"

Yei, for her part, was more enthused with Hunting the Savage Ball of Yarn.

She was a Great Adventurer, you see.

Johnny was noticing the Great Adventurer, and chuckled at the small Yei. "Someone's hyper today."

Focusing his attention back to her, he set the orchid pot on the counter. "This is for you," he told Hinata.

Hinata flushed rosily. "They're l-lovely, thank you!" she said, inspecting them delightedly. "But--why?"

Leaning forward on the counter some, he smiled at her. "Because you have been a good friend, sweetheart, and the flowers aren't much but I wanted to give you something." He shrugged. "I wasn't sure if I'd get another chance to see you before I leave."

She looked at him, quietly dismayed. "You're l-leaving so soon?"

"I am," he told her, giving her a gentle smile. "This weekend actually."

"S-Shall I see you off then?" she asked, still dismayed, but having known it was coming. "If I would not be a bother...?"e

"You bet you can," he replied. "I don't want to leave here without a hug from you, okay? And..." he shrugged a little, glancing away for a moment.

"If you wanted to check in on Savannah every now and again, I'd appreciate it. But only if you want to."

Her smile was very sweet. "Of course I w-will," she promised him solemnly. "I know how important she is to you."

"Thank you," he said, his smile sincere. "She is pretty important and she's not doing too well right now, you know? I'm worried about how she'll be when I actually leave."

"I would s-say, 'don't worry'," Hinata commented, "but I know you will, no m-matter what. But I'll look out for her the best I can."

You know, in her wee ninja glory.

"Have I mentioned how awesome you are lately?" he asked, his grin wide. "Because you are and I want you to keep in touch, okay? Email, phone; whatever way you choose. I'm not going to be around to kick ass for you if it needs kicking," he teased. Kind of. "So you gotta let me know what's up with you, alright?"

She flushed at the compliment. "I will," Hinata promised, "though I f-fear I'll bore you." Her life, after all, was not that exciting. "But I will."

"I doubt that," he told her, believing it. "You can tell me about your classes, Yei, your current flame." He grinned, teasing her just a bit.

"I don't h-have one," she said, glancing at him sideways. "I'm not interested."

"Well, how about when you do?" he asked, then thought better of it. "Or just talk to me about whatever you want. Point is we keep in touch."

"That much I c-can do," she said, smiling. "As I think my finding a boyfriend is a goodly ways off."
