beach | afternoon | monday | june 29

Never let it be said that Hannibal didn't take advantage of his vacation days when they were presented to him. Once he'd gotten up, eaten some breakfast and actually woken up, he'd grabbed a towel, swimsuit, sunglasses and something to drink for later and immediately headed down to the beach. He really couldn't pass up a day that was warm but wasn't oppressively hot and wouldn't make him feel like he was sitting with a wet, hot towel smothering him.

He spread the towel on the sand and took a seat, dropping the sunscreen beside him and ignoring it for awhile. Instead, he was just going to lay back on the towel, sunglasses on, and soak up some sun.

[open beach!]

Leda had finally decided to come check out the beach. She'd never actually seen one. Or had she? She had a vague idea she may have been down here before. Mental shrug. It might as well be the first time.

It was her first time wearing a swimsuit, not that she expected to swim, since, she couldn't. She just kind of stood there looking out at the water.

"It's not." Leda said. "But there's things in there that might." She was kidding. That wasn't what was worrying her.

"I can see those." Leda said. It was somehow better to her, to admit fear of water dwelling nasties rather than admit that she couldn't swim.

Leda nodded. "Hence my standing here looking at it." After a moment, she couldn't help asking; "Are there giant octowhatis in the bay?"

"Nah, thanks, I'm good here." Really it was just nice looking at it.

Sun, sand and a certain boyfriend? It wouldn't be entirely surprising to find out Angela wasn't too far behind. It was one of those perfect combinations, wasn't it?

Angela thought so.

She wasn't certain if he'd noticed that she'd come down or not, and helpfully made sure he did with an, "Enjoying yourself?" as she dropped her bag on the sand nearby.

"Doesn't really get much better than this, does it?" she agreed with a grin as she bent to rummage for her own towel. "Don't think they could put this week on a loop for us, do you?" Because it would be very nice to have a summer vacation week all year around.

"I'll have to get to work on that."

"... Or find someone who actually knows a bit about all that to research it for me." Which was probably more like it. Angela wasn't really a scientific type, when it came down to it.

"Oh, I would never turn down your help," she answered, finally settling on her towel to strip off the t-shirt she had over her swimsuit. Come now. Turning that down would be silly.

"Since I'm facing you, why not start front?" Look at her, using her logic. "I see you came out prepared," she noted.

"I do not lecture," she claimed, with a bit of a laugh. "I might tease you for looking a little like a lobster..."

[identity profile] flashesforinfo.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wouldn't need to lecture," she decided, lips drawing out into a bit of a smirk. "Because you'd hate that as much as I would."

"I'm sure I could handle it." Angela was fairly sure she could handle most things. Barring perhaps zombies.

"Or just figure out a way to shut you up."
