Newly acquired keys in hand, Chuck strolled into Caritas about an hour before the bar was scheduled to open. He looked pretty damn smug as he walked around slowly, inspecting everything. He had been in here many times before but it was different today. So, so different

"Get everything cleaned up and tape the zombies together, Tino. We're opening early tonight," Chuck said once he spotted the very confused looking bartender. "And before you open your mouth to argue, I'd take a look at this--"

Chuck pulled out the deed to Caritas out of his coat pocket and placed it onto the bar. Tino looked down and started reading, eyes widening more and more has he read. Slowly he lifted his head up to look at Chuck.

"That's right. This is my bar now," Chuck said with a slow smile. "If you start begging now maybe I'll let you keep your job."

That was all that needed to be said to get Tino in gear getting the zombies ready.

Chuck looked around the bar happily. "I feel like I just acquired Park Place in Fandom Monopoly."

[Yes, Chuck is the new owner of Caritas. No, not kidding. ~~I'm around!~~ About that around thing. There has been a friend emergency (a break up omg) and I must go out and comfort. So I'm only around for the next hour or so. Sucks, I know.]

Pfft, you know Chuck loves Monopoly. I bet he cheats. I cheat. I steal other people's money when they get up to go to the bathroom.

heromaniac says that's the easiest way to cheat. You have to cheat the right way: distract people when you've landed on their space, mis-count how many spaces you've moved, and move other people's tokens when they're not looking.

So, when is Caritas getting burlesque girls? :D

We have a house rule says you can steal things when someone leaves the room unless the person makes sure to say they'll bring drinks back to the table.

... Alcohol really works as an incentive not to go cheating with us.

You have to call "fives" if you want something kept when you leave a room with us. But you still only have five minutes to get back.

Nothing like that just yet omg. Chuck already has one burlesque club to keep him busy. Besides, what girls would actually work with zombies?

Eeeeeew. Chuck has a strict no uggos rule.

Way back when, my cousins and I had a list of Monopoly rules. They included no cheating, no cussing, no being so loud as to bring the downstairs neighbors down, and as the only English speaker (and game owner) I had to translate everything accurately. We made more money catching people breaking the rules than actually playing.

After the portal had dropped her off back in Fandom, Harper decided to check out the bar. "Hello! I could use something cold to drink. Maybe a Diet Coke?"

Chuck didn't really see the point of going to a bar for a Diet Coke but whatever. "Sure thing."

It didn't take long for him to get the drink, obviously. "One Diet Coke."

It's because Harper was too much of a goody two-shoes to order anything stronger.

"Thanks!" she said with her excessive cheerfulness. "Hey, you sound really familiar! Aren't you one of those guys on the radio?"

"I am," Chuck said with a nod. That wasn't surprising; he had a very unique voice. "I'm Chuck Bass."

"Ooooh, you're Eric's stepbrother, right? I'm Harper. It's really cool to meet someone from Eric's family," she said. The poor girl probably didn't know what she was getting into.

Chuck hadn't been paying much mind to the girl until she mentioned her name. Now he was at full attention. "I'm Eric's brother, yes. He's, um, mentioned you before."

"He has! That's great! Now I know I'm really making an impression on him," said Harper, beaming.

"You've certainly made an impression all right." The wrong impression but a impression nonetheless. "Eric wanted me to speak to you, actually."

Technically Chuck had let Serena have dibs on talking to Harper but since she was here now he couldn't very well miss this opportunity.

That movie was far funnier than it had any right to be. I facepalmed when I realized how long it took me to realize what "Sar-tree" really was.

"He did? Oh, great! What are we going to talk about?" asked Harper.

Oh god. This girl was way too cheerful for this. Clearly she needed things spelled out.

"You and I are going to talk about Eric and how he's gay," Chuck said bluntly. "Gay meaning he's only interested in men."
